Question Screen Door ?

The screen door on our 321RLTS on the outside has tabs that appear to hold some type of seal/protector.Anyone have the part that goes here and where did you obtain?
we bought the guard that goes on the inside but these will not work as Jayco has a lip on the door frame that wont let you attach anything to the door without adding a strip of metal to the door itself and the "Flight Commander" doesnt like that idea.

The tabs are for plexi glass inserts which I think have to be custom made. Although the tabs are fairly cheap I may have to upgrade to mirror mounts when I do it. I have not seen them offered for sale pre-cut by anyone and am interested in doing this mod for next year so I'm all ears...

As for the inside dog screens. I bought the camco adjustable one and added to my lower screen location on the inside with small SS machine screws and cap nuts on the exterior.

I also installed a simple 1/4 turn dead bolt to the inside of the screen door just out of reach so no little people could fall out. It's through bolted from the outside in and has saved many a fall that those little black catches simply don't.

Best $12.00 mod to date.

The way the frame is made i have no clearance on one side to screw the Camco slider to the door and it shut.
I was really not wanting to make the plexiglass cutouts as it will allways look like I made it:hihi:.

Lowe's carries' sheets of Plexiglas and/or Lexon. Also check with boat marinas they use it on boats as well. If you can get the material it's easy to cut to fit.

The screen door on my Designer came with a removable aluminum frame that is held in place with the four tabs on each side of the frame. The frame has a clear plastic film across it that acts as a wind barrier. I would not call it plexiglass. It is very thin and much like a very heavy duty Saran Wrap, but again VERY HEAVY DUTY. This frame is easily removable by turning the 4 tabs and lifting it off for storage elsewhere. This leaves the screen in place.

Is this is what you are looking for? If so, it came as standard equipment with the screen door on my Designer.

It's tough to tell with your photos but it looks similar to my door on my Eagle. They did not give me the panel that goes into the base cutout like you have but the tabs are on my door. Did they give you the top radius panel as well?

As for the "looks like I did it" problem. Almost any glass, mirror or old fashioned hardware store can cut plex for you. The glass shops will give you the finished look you may want. If your handy as Eagle mentioned you can cut the plexi with common tools and finish the edges with 220 grit sand paper. Some use tinted plexi for sun glare reduction.

Both the bottom and top radius panels were included. The advantage to this part vs a cut piece of plexiglas/lexan/acrylic, etc. is the weight. This part is very light weight.

Please share your findings as I would be interested in ordering from my local dealer if it's an available part.

When I recently did this mod, they did not have the tinted material in stock. I like the look of the tint...
