Sealing up openings

We picked up our new HT 29.5BHDS last week, and I noticed a few areas where rodents can get in to the belly, then into the basement. I think some spray foam insulation will work but I am looking for some ideas on how to keep the mess down as that stuff is pretty sticky. Has anyone filled in openings with this stuff?

I just finished using the foam on the Glacial Package under body panel (the gap where it connects to the frame) using Great Stuff with PESTBLOCK(from Home Depot).

If you do it yourself, make sure you use latex gloves, long sleeve old shirt, old pants, old hat, moisturizer cream on your face (DW has some good stuff, the spray splatters just peals off) and safety glasses. It is messy until you get the spray and move pattern down pat. I prefer doing it my self as I know I will get all the spaces, unlike having someone else doing it. I used a little over one can for the TT.

I am not a big fan of spray foam under our TTs. Spray foam can absorb water; water + wood = rot. My preference when possible is to take a little steel wool shove up into the hole, then use a good marine grade caulk and seal the hole. If possible I do this from both sides. With the Glacier paneling under the unit this is not easily accomplished. Also, it is easier to do a clean installation with the caulk method.

I have some pretty large openings in the basement around pipes and where wires come through. I have one large one on the belly near the axles that I may have to tape up with gorilla tape and spray some in there. Then I guess dryer sheets at all the normal places to stop rodents

When the foam hardens it should be waterproof. Spray in conservative amounts, it expands. Use a utility knife to cut the excess off after drying.

According to the Great Stuff can on my shelf, it is water resistant when dry.

I use these sticky traps. Place around the stabilizer legs and tires which are the only place the mice can gain access to the camper.

I dont think sticky traps will work for me. Last year we had over 8' of snow, so they will be buried. I will be working on this over the weekend....thanks everyone

If you don't mind, can you share where you found holes? We may be be ordering one shortly and that would help with where to look during a PSI.
