Seals Blown 16 Eagle RSTS

What would cause a blown wheel bearing seal, which now has coated the brakes with grease? Thanks

Do you use the EZ-Lube system, the number one reason is pumping in to much grease. Or they may just be worn out and need to be replaced.

If you use the EZ-Lubes they are notorious to blow out the rear seals if the grease is pumped in to fast and not rotating the wheel, while applying the grease. They say you should only use a hand pump grease gun.

Once I had a seal was not as tight as the others, when I was pounding them in, it was replaced immediately.

Unfortunately you will want to replace the brake shoe. You should be able to clean the drum.

“Sun” and “Jag” have it. Did you use the ez-lube zerks or did you have a dealer lube your bearings? Are you the OO?
I use the ez-lube and have had no problems. I think the key is (as stated), turn the wheel while pumping and pump slow. I’m real gentle when applying grease.
Works for me.
Clean the drums (brake clean aerosol) and replace the shoes, per Jag.
Could be you’ve just got a weak/bad seal.

They are crap seals for starters.
There is a bunch of us here that had blown seals and grease all over. I’m one.
Jayco/Lippert said I over heated the brakes. I had no brakes when I pull out of the dealers lot.
Took almost a year to get Jayco/Lippert to replace them under warranty.

I 100% say it’s the delivery drivers turning their controls to max and using the trailer to stop the truck. They wouldn’t want to wear their personal truck brakes and near impossible to get blamed for it...unless the dealer looked at every new trailer that got dropped off.
