Second battery location on HT

Picking up our new 27.5 HT RKDS at the dealer next week. The coach comes with one battery in the battery compartment located on the right side. Wanted to add a second battery as we "boondock" about half the time. Was wondering where the second battery should be located? The battery compartment isn't large enough for two batteries. We are adding a 150 watt solar panel to the coach, but would still like the power of a second battery. I suppose it should be installed in the front storage compartment, but wanted to know where you guys think it should go and how you addressed the install of a second battery in an HT? Appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

On my HT, which is similar but not exactly like yours, I had the same problem. I could purchase two new batteries of a size that would fit into the battery compartment at 90 degrees from the way the original battery was installed. However, if I did that I couldn't use the battery box(s) and had to leave them "exposed". So, I decided to purchase a much more powerful true deep-cycle AGM battery and place it in the basement area and then use the original battery location as additional storage (I have 2-100 watt solar panels).
In my instance the original battery was supplied by the selling dealer. If that's the way it is in your case maybe you could talk to them about a different battery configuration.
The only other way that I've seen an additional battery installed is in the front basement area with a separate vented battery box. Several ways you could go but good luck in whatever you do.

Are you sure they won't fit? I was able to do it on mine. I just had to remove the panel that separates the left side of the battery compartment from the basement and slide them into the compartment from the basement.

I have seen many people install them in the front compartment. Just takes a bit more wiring.

On edit - I do have a box for it (an end to end box), just no picture of it.
