Sewage hose storage for 5th wheelers

Hello all

We are upgrading from a TT to a Eagle HT 30.5CKTS. I am wondering, since theres no rear bumper, where do you store the black hose?

Do what I have done call Jayco and ask them. Tell your dealer to install a good under frame storage tube behind the rear wheels. There's several after market units out there. And have them bill Jayco for it. Raise a big stink on having to haul your stinky slinky and associated germs in your under house storage.

Maybe even a call to the RV people that certify the trailer (see the Black oval in the picture) it's late here and I can't make it to the storage yard now to get the information, sorry.

I added a 6 inch vinyl post protector. I have moved it several times looking for a place convenient for me that has a better chance of not being damaged in a blowout. I had them underneath in front of the rear stabilizers for a few years and then I started wanting to limit bending down on my knees so much. I then moved it to above the rear bumper and used the bumper to store some plastic sewer supports. After trying that for a year, I like the location but it causes interference when storing the bike rack in a unused position.

I am thinking of moving it just in front of the sewer hose a little in front of the tires. I have also seen them mounted in front just behind the front stabilizers.

IMO, I'm not on a crusade to get someone to fix it but pointing out the problem may help someone down the road.

I did the popular fence post sewer hose mod that's all over the internet. Used two off them. I store my hoses, adaptors and such in them. Works great. I painted mine black.

I use a rubbermaid tote with a latching lid to keep all my sewer hoses and supplies in. And store itbin the front pass thru storage area on the left side.

What year 5’er is it your buying? Every HT I’ve seen in recent years have a rear bumper, mine does and that’s where the hose is.

Me too. and if you get an 8 foot section of rain gutter made out of the same material you can use that as the "sled" to slide the hoses in and out.

I thought about the plastic bin storage method but did not want the thing inside my basement with the bar-b-que and other items that I use for food.

We keep our just below the cook stove in the pot and pan drawer. Helps to keep the pots and pans from banging around!

Did the fence post as well. I have it right in front of the sewer dump valve. Makes dumping super easy and quick. None of that dragging a tote out, unraveling the hose then stuffing a wet germy hose back in the tote. Having it all in one place just makes life easier.
I've had the same fence post on 3 different trailers. Just kept moving from one to the other. Painted it black too. Mines in front of the tires too.
I'm using a Rhino hose and the 90* end won't fit in my rear bumper.

Jayco has made a mid-year change in the 2020 model year for at least some of the HT line. Among those changes is the deletion of the rear bumper/sewer hose storage. It seems to be a trend with other manufacturers as well. My HT 30.5 CKTS was among the first of the 2020 production, so it was prior to the deletion. I have the bumper and use it for my sewer hose. I still like the idea of having a bumper back there, even if it isn't much protection, just in case I back into something or someone bumps into me. I'd rather fix the bumper than repair the rear wall fiberglass!
I think you can find places on the underside , possibly up near spare tire, to mount a tube for the sewer hose. Just pay attention to ground clearance.

Yes, I use the rain gutter too. Slides in and out like a drawer. I have 4 rhino hoses, the sewer adapter, a tee, spare gaskets and hose couplers in my fence posts.

I use a Valterra hose carrier and have two 10 footers inside....

And with a plastic version of hose carrier, no matter what style, there's no rust stains on the outside ribs of your hose. The rear bumpers aren't painted on the inside.

My 2016 didn't come with bumper storage. I also use the Valterra tube. Works well and I put a couple of padlocks on it when in storage. I painted it brown to blend in with the colors of the FW.

You would have to be pretty warped to steal a sewer hose. But I suppose there are people out there that would.

I have to agree with you! Unfortunately, there are people who would rather take your stuff than go to Walmart and spend $20. A couple of years ago, some one came through the storage lot and stole every battery and propane tank that was not locked up. Mostly from TT where they are stored on the outside. The storage facility upgraded to security gates and passcodes after that.

Since I haven’t found a tubular storage container that allows the angled inlet and outlet to remain attached to the hose, I store them in a plastic bin in the basement.

I close one end with this flushing cap, flush the hose, then turn off the valve (water tight) and then close the other end with this flexible cap. 100% leak free and I don’t have to keep disassembling and reassembling the hoses, and my other related sewer items can live in that same bin.
