Shock Absorbers
Can a shock absorber kit be utilized when the axles are mounted above the springs? Any problems like needing to flip the axles? I've only seen them mounted on a fifth wheel where the axles were mounted below the springs. Any thoughts to share?

Yep, can add shocks to over or under slung. Check out Roadmaster trailer shock kits. Use to be joyrider.

Thanks Earl, I was looking at the Roadmaster, seems to be a very beefy shock as opposed to Lippert......cost about twice as much but I guess you get what you pay for!!

You should check and see if the LCI mounts are already on the rv like mine were but then it's a 2011. If you do then all you need is shocks, probably the LCI black ones as the yellow are longer. Sorry about no PN but etrailer carries them.
I just added the yellow ones while doing the Morryde wetbolts and my axles are below the springs. Came from factory with the CRE3000 and the shocks helped a bunch. I have only towed rv from our country place on bumpy oil top road to town for state inspection so I could renew tag . Nothing out of place for once

No prob. Yes, you get what you pay for. They well engineered the system. Puts the shock angle where it can work vs laying on their side like Lippert does. If I was to put shocks on, I'd only do the Roadmaster kits. I'm actually planning to. Just have other projects to spend my money and time on at the moment.

I wonder why Jayco on the Pinnacle, mounts the axles above the springs and on the North Point mounts the axles under the springs?

Trailer Height issues? I remember being told that this is why they use low profile a/c units on the roof.

Installed the JoyRyder on my previous 5th wheel. Along with upgrading to the MorRyde 4000 it made a world of difference.

I put the Joy Rider's (now Comfort Ride by Roadmaster) on my North Point 315. I like them and they work very well.

I upgraded my previous 5th wheel (Montana High Country) with the MorRyde 4000 and the JoyRyder shocks. It improved the ride tremendously. I had initially had an appointment to have the MorRyde IS installed on that trailer but it couldn't be done because of the location of a drain pipe and concern for the height of the trailer.
The MorRyde IS eliminates the springs completely, also has shocks and increases the wheel travel another inch or so beyond that of the 4000. The ride with the MorRyde IS is hands down better than that of the 4000 with shocks.

I keep telling myself that my next trailer is going straight to MORryde for the IS.

To be honest I don't remember. You can contact them on their website and they will give you a quote. I would also consider getting the disc brakes at the same time.

In what manner is the ride improved with such a conversion? Is it stuff like the hobbby-horsing over bridge slabs or construction zones and the like? Although we felt very sure footed and in control with our truck, I did notice some of this in the ride trough construction on I-4 coming out of Orlando and through Daytona

Here is a picture of the Roadmaster shocks I had installed today on our new Pinnacle. Anxious to see how they perform.

Very nice, did not know about these kits. Please let me know what you think.
Another item for the ever growing list.

Sweet upgrade Al!
Is that a picture of your trailer or just a generic picture of the shocks? Your going to love the shocks and how they smooth out the excess bounce.
