Eagle - Do a break test and measurement with your current brakes and then do one with the disk setup after the install. I know it will be night & day, but I'm curious what the actual difference will be.

BTW, I too am jealous!

I think everyone should go to Big John in Louisiana and pay him what the other places charge to install disc brakes and anything else we need done.
We already know it would be done CORRECTLY!!

Man, I really do appreciate those comments. As always, bring it here, stay for free (full hook ups), pay for the materials, enjoy the company, and get more than you'd get at a dealer. The offer is always there. If I don't know how to do it, come anyway, WE will figure it out. Thanks guys.

Doubt that it's "twice as good" so I'm kinda leaning to the lippert if I do it.

Anyone with shocks on their unit? Would like some real world opinions not marketing hype from a commercial or advertisement, if you know what I mean. Thanks!

I put Joyriders on my JayFlight TT, it did seem to make things move around less during transit, I have even had a time or 2 when the turn table in the microwave didn't bounce out which ALWAYS occurred before the shocks were installed. I should note, it does still pop out a majority of the time.

I did it mainly for less shock to the trailer as we intend to put a lot of miles on it, and improve the ride. Went with Joyrider after talking to the manufacturer and doing a lot of reading, I became convinced they would be more effective due to a shallower angle than the Dexter or Lippert options. The shocks seemed pretty decent as well when I examined them pre-installation.

With an underslung axle, however (not sure what you have), the mount and bolt on the shock are a new "low" point under the trailer lower than the u bolts and leaf. it would take a good hole or gut but it could probably bottom out if perhaps you ran the trailer off of new pavement construction that didn't yet have a shoulder, etc. Thats about my only concern, otherwise they seem to do what they are advertised to. Installation was not difficult.

Disc Brakes are on. Was not able to do any scientific testing but in my short test drive they seem to work very well.
The install is pretty straightforward. It is something a good mechanically inclined person can do. It is a lot of work. It took him all day.

Very nice! What kit did you get? Which HBA? How did they run the brake lines?

Now to get back on topic. I just don't think I'm going to be able to make a trip to Indiana for the MORryde IS. So I see Tweety's has the Joy rider shock kit for $230 probably going to do this.

That's the kit I was originally looking at. I'm still unsure if I need it or not. Maybe after you get yours and report your findings I'll get them too.

230.00 per axle. You would need 2 kits for a tandem axle
