We use a Rubbermaid container right outside the door. Keeps the bugs and weather out.

Shoe storage idea

I seen where someone purchased cloth type shoe holder that mounted on back of bath door they used bottom half for shoes and top half for bath stuff, shampoo soaps etc........

On mine the awning ends right at the edge of the door, so it gets wet right in front of the door.
