Shoes shoes and more shoes......

With four of us and sometimes more we're having a tough time finding a place for all of the shoes, sandals etc.

We're on a seasonal site and have a deck which is great when the weather is nice but when it's raining it becomes a problem. With the door being at the edge of the awning the deck gets soaked right in front of the door. Grrr....

I would love to hear some creative ideas to solve this, I'm getting tired of the pile of shoes inside right in front of the door.

Do you have room for a shoe rack near the door?

I could not find that floor plan when I did a quick search. Do you have a jsofa? On our htt, I removed the front panel and the shoes hide under there. I bet if you start thinking about spots you can not easily access you will find a spot, you can modify. One example might be rework the stairs to the front bedroom. You might be able to make a shoe cubby under there. Most rigs have lots of empty spaces you just have figure out where they are at and to make an easy access point.

Here is the floorplan. I thought about under the stairs but I'm a little worried about stair support. If that is an option I'm all ears for a how-to.

By the way, we have the free standing table and chairs.

Inside, no. Outside is no good because of mentioned deck soaking at the door when it rains, don't want to get soaked feet when going to get shoes. LOL

Hi
My Friend just put a rack under my step for my shoes. to kept them dry.
I was just out to the trailer today.
Going out on Thursday will take a picture of it.
It is just a cupboard wire rack and put some screws in it to hold it down
We had to move it back a little because of the stairs.
it works just fine.
You could even put one at the other door

This would be like Seann45's suggestion except these are hard plastic cabinets than can be mounted to the wall adjacent to your door. I am talking about the TRONES shoe cabinets from IKEA. They only extend off the wall a little more than 7 inches and can handle several pairs of shoes each.

http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/30110832/

And since you are in Winnipeg, you can just wander down to that brand new location and check it out for your selves. I haven't installed any in ours, but we have talked about it as there are a few good spots for it.

Good ideas but they won't work in our case because the control panel, breakers and fuses are all on the wall at the door. The only space is about 20x20 inches there and then the wall curves for the hallway.

We use a Rubbermaid container right outside the door. Keeps the bugs and weather out.

On mine the awning ends right at the edge of the door, so it gets wet right in front of the door.
