Shut off valve for sewer pipe

We bought a used Northpoint. The dealership did not empty the black tank. They told us to close the shut off valve before attaching our sewer hose. I didn’t see a shut off valve. It’s not at the end of the sewer pipe. Is it located somewhere else?

Where your water control valves are do you have pull handles located there? It may have cable-operated valves.

If you don't have a valve at the connection point for your waste hose I highly suggest you get one of these: https://www.campingworld.com/twist-o...217322c1594d39

That will save you from dealing with a mess every time you take the cap off to attach your hose.

All my prior camping trailers had the shut off valve right there at the dump spicket. If i wasn't paying close attention during the walk through when i purchased my 321 Eagle, i would have been asking the same question.. Pretty soon we'll be controlling these valves from our phones, and 'ole CAG will be scratching his head..

I installed one of those on my trailer. Should've done it years ago. I used to carry a 5 gal bucket just for sewer valve mishaps.

My Northpoint has a black valve in the control center right next to the grey tank valve. There is also a valve gate at the end of that sewer line. However, my other sewer line at the back of the trailer had NO valve gate at the end. So I used a Sawzall to cut the end fitting off and glued a new gate on the end.
No more surprises on either line. The rear line has 3 tanks that dump into it, one black and two grey. Those tanks have handles on the bottom of the frame right by the sewer line end.

I'm surprised no one mentioned that a dealer that would sell an RV with a full holding tank is pretty creepy. I would have walked if they told me "we're throwing in a little extra with your purchase".

If he brought from a consignment dealer, i doubt any of those dealers would, or even know how to deal with those issues...We have an auto consigment dealer in town and they actually have more RV's on their lot then autos.. You are pretty much on your own buying from those guys. If he bought from an RV dealer, that dealership is in sad shape

Most RV dealerships have a place that tanks can be dumped. I was at my Jayco dealers last week and some one called in that was traveling in a Winnebago Class C and he let them dump the black tank at no charge!

X2
Great peace of mind for not too much cash - one of the best mods you can get.
Mine would rotate off when disconnecting the dump hose so I anchored it to the end of the trailer dump tube with a couple of small carefully located SS screws.

Been using the add-on gate for a long time, nothing worse that popping the cap to hook up your hose and have nasty water come out... even a little. Def worth the $12.
