Side wall crack

I have a 2017 Pinnacle 5th wheel and now have a 6 in crack in the side wall next to the bedroom slide out. Repair is estimated at $3k. Since RV is out of warranty Jayco will not help (service dept says it's just cosmetic not structural) Repair shop says the problem is due to not enough support at sidewall to handle slide weight. Has anyone else had this problem? Clearly a very expensive repair.

Jayco factory fixed ours under warranty last year. Removed the outside wall from the front to about a foot back from the slide opening. installed steel gussets in LP tank area, and aluminum gussets around slide area. Huge job.
It's not just cosmetic, but it's probably not going to fall apart either.

Lots of internet searching you can do on this.

Some folks opt to seal or repair the crack, then cut a stress relief crack, and put molding over it.

I have a 2018 Pinnacle with same problem. The factory is working up a quote now. I put clear Gorilla tape over it for now to keep water out.

I have a 2018 Pinnacle and had the same problem. Mine was still under warranty so Jayco had it repaired. A gusset was installed and the exterior wall was repaired. They also added a vertical relief cut in the side wall to ensure that it would not crack in the future. I did put almost 2000 miles on the FW after I discovered the crack without doing further damage to the side wall.
