Contact your dealer first, it needs to be documented.

I dealt direct with Jayco on my cracked sidewall. They were great to work with. I purchased from CW in Acworth Ga. and I don't think they could tie a shoe correctly. Jayco asked me had I contacted the dealer and when I told them who I purchased from they said we will come pick it up and return to factory for repairs.

I dealt directly with Jayco too. I called the Jayco customer service number. Sent pictures and there were no questions asked. I elected to drop it off at the factory (9/30) Supposed to pick it up 10/18.

Well the date finally arrived and we dropped our 377 off yesterday morning at Jayco Service in Middlebury. This will be a re-do from July 2017, which lasted 16 mos. I was among the first here to experience the crack in Aug 2016, just 3 months after delivery. We waited 10 months to fix as we fulltime, and watched the crack grow to 7 inches. They did an outstanding repair the first time.

We slept in it overnight as we had a 6:30a appt, along with two other fifth wheels parked next to us overnight with other repairs. If you take your rig up there, they have a dump station in the parking lot which is very convenient, and two 50a hookups adjacent to the parking spaces with extension cords to reach. Michelle Scarberry is the service writer. She is very nice.

We scheduled the appt last November, and it’s great that they have agreed to repair the crack outside the 2 year warranty. We get the rig back on Sept 30. I’ll share pictures. Click image for larger version

I dealt with both the dealer and the factory. My unit was out of warranty by about 1-1/2 months when I contacted the dealer about the crack. The dealer submitted a fix of covering the crack with a piece of aluminum and painting to match. Jayco initially denied it under warranty, that's when I contacted Jayco directly. The crack got fixed at the factory under warranty. They also fixed a couple other issues, the vanity mirror was cracked (must have opened while traveling last year and hit the top rail of the shower door) and the dimmer switch for the lights above the dining table (didn't realize it was bad). I'm happy with Jaycos response to the problem. The only issue I had was trying to contact someone while my camper was there. Make sure you get a direct phone number / email address of someone at the service center, not customer service. The service center works M-F 6am - 3pm EST.

Did I read this correctly? You had the crack repaired twice. Did Jayco do it both times? My unit is there now and this has me a little concerned if they are applying the same procedure each time.

Just joined the crack club this afternoon. Ironically we were coming back from a local CW where we had the power awning fuse safety recall performed. Pulling in to our space at a slow walking pace I heard a crack like the sound of a yardstick being slapped on a countertop. Joan was outside spotting with the walkie-talkie and said that the wheels never left thee dge of the pavement, never mind hitting anything . We noticed the crack when we went to drop the landing gear to disconnect the truck. It's right there in your face looking at the bedroom slide corner when you reach in to the gas locker to drop the gear.

The crack looked horrible, split open wide with raw fiberglass visible inside. However when we came back for the photo after dropping the gear and disconnecting the truck, the crack virtually disappeared, reverting to a hairline about 4 1/2 inches.

Called Jayco right away. They never asked about a dealer. They asked for the photo that they will forward to a special team who would follow up with us.

BTW this is the 2nd time we have been to CW in Pooler, GA (near Savannah) and in both cases they have taken us on time and completed the work in the time promised, knowing that we were waiting with 8 pets in the truck. Prompt, courteous and helpful.

Angus

Oh, no airbags. Curt A25 hitch.

Dang it!! Sorry to hear this Angus. I look at that corner every time we get to a new CG. It would be a pisser to have to take it to the factory when you're a full timer. Keep us informed.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, Jayco is re-doing the sidewall crack a second time. This time, they will be applying more reinforcement braces around the area. One will be in the propane compartment like others have shown here. Not sure where else they'll be going. I asked if they are going to make a vertical expansion joint and place a trim piece over it like another was shown here and the lady said no, that method makes for an improper seal under the slide. So we'll see soon.

We pick up on Sept 30.

Thanks Al. After a winter booked in FL and heading north through ALA in the spring and then northeast to PA, we can readjust and point more north to Middlebury IN. I hear that they make really good popcorn in Indiana- I see it in the Sam's club isles.

We'll keep duct tape on it until then.

Yes Michelle is our service writer. Very nice and friendly. Dave Underwood was the previous service writer last two years. He was awesome guy too. I assumed he retired.

On a side note, I learned from another lady placing ID stickers on the front caps of rigs to be serviced that the last four numbers in the VIN ‘0050’ is the prototype, first production model gets 0051. Ours is 0053, so our 2017 North Point 377 RLBH is the third unit off the assembly line.

Mine is 0084, does that mean ours was the 84th produced? Maybe they ironed the kinks out by then

It’s possible they might have it done earlier, we’ll see.
