So a question here... Is the crack only on the North point and Pinacle trailers or has anyone had it on an Eagle? I have not been able to gleen that out of this thread.
Just for the record
2017 Eagle 321rsts moryde 3000 on trailer suspension, moryde rubber pin box, pullrite isr auto slider hitch on reese adapter to Ford puck
2016 F250 super crew diesel short box
with camper upgrade suspension options and airlift air bags @ 70 psi.
About 10k miles no crack so far.

Thanks

I was all excited to post photos of the repair. I picked it up yesterday.
Looked great. Went back to the KOA in Middlebury. Got up early this morning and drove to the KOA in Wytheville, VA (approx 530 miles).

Unfortunately the cracked returned. Already contact Jayco....very frustrating to say the least!

Just noticed the crack. Emailed Jayco and waiting to hear from them. Also curious if they will pick up or if I have to carry to the factory.
Also is there any risk to keeping on using the camper with the crack? I'm thinking not but what do you all think?

Certainly looks like “the crack” but I can’t tell if it’s coming off the rear of the slide or if your photo is rotated.

Photo is rotated. Crack is toward the front.

Well that shoots my theory about airbag pin boxes being immune from this issue. Yours may be the first Eagle we’ve seen with this issue, too. Lots of Pinnacles and North Points in this thread. Bummer.

That would be ours... The original repair and joint were flawless, however we had to go back because the joint where the new and original panels met cracked, top and bottom. They claimed it was because there is a lot of structural material in that area so not a lot of room to build up the joint to strengthen it. They couldn't guarantee that if they tore it all open again and redid it that it wouldn't fail again either. Rather than deal with that potential we simply added two more "joints". It looks kind of funky, but at this point we don't really care - we don't have to worry about it, and we're not getting rid of this unit any time soon. By the time we do it won't be worth anything anyway...

For what it’s worth, a fellow in my seasonal campground has a 2018 375 and I’ve seen what this crack will do if left unaddressed. His is at least 1.5’ long at this point. He takes trips out west every winter, so he puts miles on it.

I would appreciate folks input on if Jayco sent someone to get their rigs or they had to drive it to the factory or service center. I just want them to be consistent on how they treated other customers...

They will send someone to pickup and return your rig.

I vote for let them pick and return to dealer. Jayco said they would pick it up to get it up there and I could pick it up after work completed. I decided to let them bring it back to dealer. Transport had a problem on trip back to dealer and had to take it back to Jayco. I would have been stuck with it if I had picked it up. My other benefit in letting Jayco do the fix is they also fixed a list of problems I had even though I was out of warranty.

thanks, this is very helpful because as of right now they're only offering to cover my fuel back and forth. While I appreciate their offer, I would have to take multiple vacation days to get it back and forth...

Mine is getting picked up again by Jayco end of November and will be re-worked and re-engineered. Hopefully it doesn't happen a 3rd time. Imo this is a structural engineering issue and a choice not to put in a expansion joint. You want the aesthetics you need to make sure the engineering is correct. I never saw a disclaimer that said I needed airbags or a air ride hitch or a stress crack may occur. A little cynical right now, but disappointed atm. You spend a lot of money on these units. Just because its an RV doesn't mean it should get a pass on quality and engineering.

And with all that said.....I just ordered a Hensley BD3. I was going to get before I picked it up but timing was off. Whether the crack would have happened again if I had the BD3 who knows, but it has to make for a much better ride.

Mine was about 1/2" long and nearly invisible until this past winter. Returning home thru CO it grew to about 1.5". Likely due to the large road heaves between Vail & the tunnel. My levelling blocks in the truck box were airborn a few times. We put about 8000mi/yr on it and this was the 4th winter to the SW and back. We also boondock a lot so it see some rough roads but then they likely aren't much worse than the interstates.

If his crack is 1.5' long then something in the overhang has broken and it isn't just flexing.

Has anyone got a frame drawing from Jayco to see what's actually supposed to be under the skin?

I did some searching and found a couple of interesting writeups.

No frame drawing but this was posted at one point in this subject which corresponds to what I was told when at the factory. In addition there is a support added in the LP tank area.

We were just referred by Jayco to Vogt RV in Ft. Worth TX. for our crack repair.
https://www.vogtrv.com/

Anyone know these guys? It's about the same distance for us to get to Middlebury as it is to Ft. Worth and I may just tell Jayco that we can wait until next August. We tend to travel only a few hundred miles at a time, then stay for a month. So we won't be adding any more miles to the crack.

After reading Bill3Kirk's post about picking up his rig from Jayco just a few days ago only to have the crack reappear, I'm thinking that I would prefer to have such a possibility be Jayco's problem rather than getting a third party involved and forming a circular firing squad. Plus maybe by August 2020 Jayco can finally figure out how to do it right(?).

Unless someone can tell me that Vogt RV in Ft. Worth has already figured it out...?

Part of me wants to just keep going and keep a tube of GE Silicone II in the glove box and call it an "expansion joint".
