Some RV owners have installed Guardian Plates from Home | TALIN RV.

I put sheet metal strips where the rollers are, and works perfect. If you think you have to much weight install an extra roller, it won't hurt (except the wallet).

Just watched that Talan video way to much work to expensive for me.What thickness metal did you use.Where you able to attached with screws only. Did you have to raise slide to get metal under rollers. My fabric is about to tear on rear roller. All so could you use one piece of metal that would cover the entire under side of the slide. seems like it would eliminate a lot of cuts. Thanks

What's wrong with it, doesn't look torn? Every unit we've owned had those roller marks, didn't cause any problems.

Figured they were pricey. I think we can make a one piece galvanized sheeting which would cover the entire under side of kitchen slide. At least we will give er a try. Thanks

I'm in the process of working on my kitchen slide. I found a local fab shop and had 8 10"x27" stainless steel sheets cut. $200

How do you plan to lift the slide so you can get the plate between the bottom of the slide and over each of the rollers?

Just using what I can get my hands on. You do not have to go up but just a little at each roller.

Did not turn out to bad. I used pan head because that's all I could find at the time in S.S. They are working just fine. I can change out later if I don't like them.

Can't say I can tell any difference. Got to be better than riding on wood.

I would think that a dry lubricant on those plates would have to help a lot.

Great job would it save me any time if we used one plate to cover entire underside of slide? How far in past the roller does the metal go?That mod makes a lot of sense! Thanks

I think it would be hard to lift the hole slide at one time. It was about 3" past the roller, 27" total on my slide.

I saw on a YouTube video that someone did that. He used 3 or 4 jacks with a board that stretched over all the jacks to even the load.......don't really need to lift it that much.

I lifted just to the side of each roller one at a time. It was very easy. Like you said just have to go up a little and slide the plate in.
