Slam latch adjustment

The entrance door on my 2018 377 RLBH was not operating properly. When I would swing the door to close it would bounce back. The only way to close it was to open the latch as you close it. I had found this on our walk through. The dealer said they lubed it, a total waste of time.
This weekend I figured out what was wrong and fixed it and thought I'd share.
After removing the two screws on side of the lock I removed the four screws holding the inner black plastic cover. After removing this cover, I removed the lock assembly from the door. Then while holding the latch open I wiggled the lock assembly out of the door.
Then I removed the four screws holding the metal plate to the lock assembly.
Now the coil spring that provides tension to the latch is visible. The problem on mine was that the latch had too much spring tension. This was causing the door not to latch closed. I removed the spring and cut of one or two coils at a time until it had the tension I liked. I reinstalled the lock and now the door closes much better.

Sorry, I didn't think to take phots as I was fixing it. Its really not that difficult. You will need a Torx set of screwdriver bits. Home Depot or Lowes will have them for about ten to fifteen bucks.

Just don't cut too much off of the spring at a time. You may have to reassemble the lock a few times before you get the spring tension the way you like it.
