Slide damage-pics
So this happened either when I pulled the slide in before taking the rig to a campground for a friend to use, or when it was deployed when I set it up for him. I always brush the slides off so I know it wasn't damaged when I prepared it for the trip, at least prior to running the slide in. I discovered it when I went topside to clean the slide again before breaking camp. This is the kitchen slide that operates on the schwintec (sp?) system I believe. It clearly was rubbing badly. What do you think happened here?

Somewhat..from the inside of the coach only. I don't want to run slide back out due to rain here. I could not see anything obvious from the inside however..

it seems weird because all that should be against that area is the rubber seal

X2. If you don't find a problem with something that could have hung up there then I bet it was a squirrel.
Put you a strip of eternabond on it.

Tomorrow I will run it out and investigate thoroughly. I'll let ya know. BTW, we are on the same page because I've been thinking screw or critters too.

I would vote "screw head" I have only had a trailer for about 5 months now and I have found a missing screw on my kitchen slide, replace crummy screw jobs and added many screws for additional durability. I would look for a screw head tho.

Me too. If a squirrel, it was a very precise, linear, patterned little freak of a squirrel. But, you never know....

if you can get to that upper corner with the slide in I would feel around there before running it out

Had a small tear in the upper slide seal (inner one). Made some ripple like wear patterns in the slide roof. Seal is on order. They also tell me the slide is a little tight in that area. Hope the repair goes well when the seal comes in.
Happy Camping

That doesn't look like wear from rubbing over a long period of time but rather something that got caught and tore it. Fortunately it's a fairly easy fix with eternabond strips and some lap sealant.
I've seen damage caused by a good sized pinecone that looks like that but it wasn't of the edge like yours was.
I'm curious if you have slide toppers or not?

I took a close look today and did not see anything obvious. However, I did find a small cut in the opposite corner of same slide. I only found it by raising the outer black rubber seal. It is bigger than the picture shows because the slit opens up on the opposite side of my fat finger. From the roof I laid down and ran my fingers under the outer seal....no screw heads. I will also attach a second pics that shows the eternabond being pushed back from it's original location, on the worst side with all the damage. I am not going to fix myself as I have an appointment with dealer to address other issues under warranty.

Third pic showing eternabond and corner, is it supposed to be angled in like that?

I don't see how the angled end can be normal. I'm guessing it's not like that on the other end. Also looks like the Eternabond has a couple of open areas where it pooched up a bit leaving room for water to get in.
Be interesting to see what the dealer's repair shop has to say about it.
