Slide outs

We just got a seasonal site for the first time this year. What’s everyone’s opinion on whether to close the slide outs or leave open when we leave on Sunday's and gone till next weekend ? We have slide out toppers on all slides. I also plan on shutting the water off just in case we have a leak. Any other suggestions on things to do to prevent any headaches in the future ? Thanks for any suggestions

Closed. Too easy for critters to get past the seals. A mouse only needs a hole the size of a pencil to get in. It also helps preserve the seals since they are out of the elements.

We were on a seasonal site for 10 years. We opened our 4 slides April 15 (campground opened) and retracted them Oct 15 (campground closed). Never had a problem.

I also would turn off the water heater. If you have a residential fridge might as well turn off your gas too.

Close.
Leaving slides open when you are not at the trailer for multiple days exposes more roof area as well as seams and seals where water can get in undetected.
I would also turn off water, in case of an unexpected plumbing leak.
