RipinRC I fixed your pics. Was it the ones in the flange that ripped out?

I measured the flanges on my Eagle and they are all the same. HT must be different then.

Thanks. How did you get the pic’s rotated?
The one that pulled out is the one mounted below the flange on the door side of my FW

Just saved them to my pc, rotated them and put them on a pic hosting site.

I measured the flanges on mine and the bedroom and kitchen slide that are Schwintecs are 6". The dining/living room slide is a 4 1/2" flange.

Yours is a 2019, so it looks like maybe the poster that said 2019's and 20's mount in the flange is correct.

That sucks they pulled out, makes me nervous now. Hopefully I can find someone that has my exact model and has toppers to see how his was mounted.

FYI, when they pull out, the awning topper rolls up over the flange and does allot of damage. Topper awning replaced, all new brackets, new end caps and filling the holes and painting the side. All under warranty. My suggestion is have someone install them. That way if you have a problem, you can go back on them if they install them wrong. This was a Jayco factory screw up.

Naw, I'll do them myself and will mock them up first making sure everything clears before I go drilling any holes. I was a heavy collision tech until I retired and I figure if I can repair a car with $10k worth of damage and make it look new, I should be able to install a few RV awnings.

If you have the wider flanges you need to contact JAYCO again, because all they told you was the bracing was there and it is, but behind the flange on the driver's side. On passenger side it is below the flange.

Yep, that's the plan. I just hope their info is better than when I asked them about the wiring for my 2nd AC prep. I was given false information then and fortunately figured it out.

My particular model has the Schwintec slides (6" flanges) on both sides of the rig, bedroom and kitchen. The dining/living room slide (4 1/2") is on the drivers side.

I have not heard back from the factory yet. I agree a test hole would be a good idea. I emailed Solera and they of course said to not deviate from their furnished instructions. I also contacted ETrailer and one of their Techs said install below the flange. As long as there is material to mount to below the flange that is where I would prefer to mount them because I would have more slope to drain and prevent standing water. I appreciate all the information and as you can tell there are conflicting installation methods even from the factory.

I just found the picture of our 2015 FLSA where we even had a topper on the dinette slide and the bracket is below the flange. The topper does rub, but that is because the brackets are mounted upside down (per the factory) however it worked fine. I wanted it since we had many places where we stayed that we did not put out the awining and I wanted the slide covered.

Your flanges aren't wide enough to mount on them. As was metioned on the EAGLE some are 6".

Thanks. I appreciate the confirmation. I will plan on installing my brackets below the flange. Just wanted to make sure there was material to mount to behind the fiberglass. If yours was a 2015 FLSA then I should be good. Thanks again.

Just received information from the Jayco factory. They provided me the schematic drawings of slides and some have a 3 inch steel backer at the top and others only 1 inch. That may explain why some are on the flange and some are below.

So how do you determine what you have? Is it model specific?

It is worse than model specific. We have a North Point 315RLTS that has no backing plates, per Jayco. The reason was they installed a Norcold fridge and thus, this caused them to not install backing plates on all slides. How about that? They gave no reason.

Jayco knows what is on your RV pretty much down to sensor types, window coverings, and more than you would think. I had arguements with them where the manual said there were things, and Jayco said they weren't installed; and it was disclaimed as changes without notice are allowed.

So, call Jayco with the last eight and they will tell you if the backing plates exist. Just about anyone in customer service call tell you. If not they are new.

Well I guess this is no surprise to me. It just verifies they have no build standards to go along with no quality control.

This stuff is giving me cold feet on the idea of slide toppers. I just watched an etrailer install vid where they mounted one on a Pinnacle. The fabric was clearly rubbing on the top of the flange when closing just asking to fail. Someone in the comments mentioned it and etrailer responded that's what Lippert said will happen with the larger flanges. Ugh, I have two with 6" flanges.
