Slide toppers flapping in the wind
Does anyone have any solutions to make slide toppers stop flapping in High winds. Boy do they make a noise.

Don't know of a solution, but I agree. On my North Point the one over the kitchen slide was the worst, probably because it's the biggest, the bedroom and dining room topper didn't make a noise a all. It's a lot worse when it's wet.

We had 50 mile per hour winds and i was afraid they were gonna tear off. I had to bring all the slides in for the night just for peace of mind

With that kind of wind I would bring everything in

They can be tightened, but it takes some knowledge on how to lock the springs before removing the brackets to add tension.

Here's what I did with some 1/2" PVC tubing..., disassembles for easy storage. Also keeps the topper from pooling when it rains. Oh course it has it's limits when it comes to strong winds.

There's been a few times when it got windy enough to bother us with the noise or the concern for the health of the topper. We bring the slides in if that happens. I've also heard of beach balls under the toppers but have never bothered.

I was out west with 50 mpg winds and I put a cargo strap (not tight) over the large awning topper to keep it from blowing up in the center. From what I have read, if you live out west with the high winds you don't want awning toppers.
