Slider Hitches

Anybody use a manual slider hitch, its for a short bed truck (UK truck)
We have to use it to get a better turning circle as i am being told from our dealer, its going to be our 1st fifth wheel after 10 years of owning motorhomes.
Just wanted to know if they are easy to use etc, can't have a auto model as we are restricted to a certain weight?

We have a short bed Silverado with the 18k Powerglide. Easy to use. Going into our seventh year with no issues.

It's going to depend on which 5th Wheel you're purchasing. The Jayco HT series has the pin box out in front of the nose cap about 6" to 8", which helps tremendously with tighter turning radius. We have a B&W with manual slide, but have yet to use it. The only time we will ever need to use the slide feature is when we have to back our rig into a spot that requires the truck to be in the jack knife position. And, we don't anticipate doing that, at least in the States.

Have the turnover ball and BW Companion slider and it's very easy to use. Great hitch.
