Smoke detectors not included anymore?

My 2017 Eagle 293RKDS doesn't have a smoke detector. It has a combo LP/CO detector. I find that odd. All my other trailers came with smoke detectors. Did Jayco make an oops or don't they provide them?

Thanks,
Earl

That has to be an error on the construction crew.

I just looked at the standard items list and no mention of a smoke detector. Anyone have a 2017 Eagle with a smoke detector?

I found this invoice and it shows a smoke detector under standard equipment for that model.

I believe to carry the RVIA sticker it has to have a smoke detector. I bet someone at the factory forgot to mount one......

EDIT:
Yup, from the RVIA site:
Fire & Life Safety Requirements as specified in NFPA 1192 Standard for RVs.
  • Interior finish flame spread limitations are required.
  • Minimum exit facilities providing unobstructed travel to the outside of the vehicle must be available.
  • Smoke alarms, Fire extinguishers, CO alarms and Propane detectors are mandate based on applicable criteria.

You're lucky in one way. They mounted the smoke detector in my 2016 on the ceiling over the dinette. Every time we cook anything, the "dinner bell" on the ceiling goes off. I moved it this year. Now its near the bedroom door. For only a few bucks, you can mount yours where you want it, with no extra holes to fill!!

I'm an idiot. There is one. It's not in the location I'm use to. It's actually in the kitchen. Apparently they believe that's a good idea. But I do have one.

We went to test ours for the first time two days ago. I know we have had the TT for two years but we kept forgetting to test it! It didn't work so my husband took the cover off to replace the battery -- only to find out that the factory plastic battery protector (similar to buying a toy that already has a battery but you have to pull the plastic thing to allow the battery to connect and therefore work) was still intact!!! He pulled it off and now the smoke dectector works! So if you haven't tested yours -- make sure you do it sooner rather than later!!
