Squeaky bathroom faucet handles

The handles on my bathroom faucet are squeaky. I don't see a need to replace them, I'm ok with them. Just need to stop the squeaky noise when I turn them on or off. What's your experience with this? Do I just remove the handles with an allen wrench and use penetrating fluid? Will that stop the noise? Or do I have to remove the stem to lubricate?

Wow.. that's weird. Never heard of that before. I would imagine any good silicone can do it. Interested to hear the outcome.

Been there had the squeak
lubed them with faucet grease. Squeak returned
Did this 3 times enough for me
The only metal in them are the springs that hold the seals in place.
We replaced with a moen
No more squeaks

Moen in the bathroom solves a lot of things

How hard is it to replace, the fixture? Sounds like that's the thing to do.

Ours was pex thumb nuts on the lines and plastic washers under counter. Counter was much thinner than standard household counter. Made up 1/2 inch thick spacers
Mounted and put on supply lines Done
I used the plastic tie down nuts to counter from old tap and drilled out to make spacers

Also have the shower faucet squeak. Lube them both with faucet grease and takes care of it for a while. This is a regular maintenance for me. Easy to remove the handles. Just push in the black plastic nub on the back side of the handle with a small screwdriver and pull the handle off. This is what happens with plastic junk.

I had my cold handle the faucet in my outdoor kitchen start to squeak and got hard to turn on and off. Replaced it with a residential one with a higher head on it for easier rinsing of things. No more squeak.
My shower faucet was a single handle and no way to control the amount of flow to try to conserve water when not on full hook up. And it was really sensitive on temp control. Replaced it with a dual handle residential one. Much better.
As faucets start to puke, quality residential replacements are what's going in.
