Squeaky Steps and Floors

I have a 2017 Jayco Eagle Ht 28.5 RSTS. I have noticed my steps leading to the bedroom have a noticeable squeak when I walk on them. Is there anything that can be done to fix this or is it just part of the breaking in process?

It's a fit and trim issue. The trim on the step is generally to close to the sidewall. It will need to be trimmed. That means removing the step. Not so much a cost thing, rather a labor issue. If you step on the left and it is noticeably louder then that's the side to trim first. Or let the dealer fix it.

Not sure on your trailer but on mine I can get to the backside of the steps by removing the basement side panel (exposes a rats nest of wiring ). If you can see where the movement is you could put some screws in from below to tighten it up. Not sure if they are stapled down like everything else.

It can also be a issue of twisting the unit. If not set up level, plumb and square you will get much more floor squeaking. No one makes the frames like they use to, it's very easy to tork them when setting up.

All 4 corners plus the tires need to be on the same plane..not easy.

Good Luck.
