Squealing Slide

I have a 2016 Eagle HT. A couple of months ago, the slide on the door side of the fiver started making a loud squealing noise when extending and retracting (The kitchen side slide is fine). I had the dealer take a look at it and they supposedly made an adjustment, but it was actually squealing worse afterwards. So, I took it back and they looked at it again and even called Jayco. Jayco told them that the squealing is caused by some neoprene bushings in the square slide tubes and is perfectly normal. Jayco said that the noise usually goes away with continued use of the slides as the bushings wear down a little and that I just needed to keep it lubricated. Okay, I can live with a little noise from the slide if that is normal. But, my two year warranty is up this coming December so I'm just a little paranoid about the situation. Does anyone have some insights to this issue? Is this "normal"?

Our slide was also making a squeaking noise. Took it to the dealer under warranty and we were told we didn't lubricate the slide. We have been but the service manager told us we had to lube inside the sealed underbelly. Okay, this makes no sense. So he showed me where they made a couple of surgical incisions on the belly cover and where I should open it and lube in the future. I asked what kind of tape to use and he said "RV underbelly tape:

My question, why design something that cannot be maintained as built? I am no engineer, but this is just stupid!

I've never lubed one in the underbelly. Most all have made a little noise. All I've ever done, is clean the rails and gear teeth real good with dawn / water or something, let dry and spray with dry lube, and this is just a couple of times a year. In between those times, just dry silicone lube and the gears and rails. And of course I keep the slide box ends waxed more than normal and 303 the seals. Never had an issue.

I agree with BigJohnD. Extend the slide, wipe/wash all the grime off and wipe dry several times a year. Spray the bar with clear silicone and then the slide goes in, it will transfer any lube needed to the gears.

I have been near the gearbox and noticed the inside part and on my rig, it is clean and makes minimum noise.

Don't neglect the rubber slide seals either. They can make a awful noise and cause a drag rubbing when rubbing on the sides, top and bottom.

Experienced and tried all of the above. Ours squeals no matter what we do. Sometimes it does; sometimes it does not. Oh well.
