MORryde Sre4000 problem

Just wanted to share this so hopefully it doesn't happen to some1 else .. I'll keep it short. Final check before leaving for home I went to Grease the morryde 4000 equalizer .. from the pics you can see how shocked I was when I seen what had happened. The rubber on both equalizers had failed and worked there way out. This caused the suspension to move all the way forward. The only thing holding the back springs on both sides was the frame, they were tight up against it. You can also see that the bracket on the equalizer where the top bolt goes through the spring was cracked on both sides. I did a quick Google search on this and found several posts with the EXACT SAME ISSUE some were installed less then a year. I did call morryde and the parts were still under warranty but they would not go good for the labor as a told the rep it appears this is a problem/ defect due to the Google search. I got nowhere. I was then told that the sre4000 which a had would take 5 weeks or more to get?? But that they could ship a sre300 overnight .. hmm makes me think maybe they realize the issue with the 4000. The 300 is completely different on construction as they is a plate top and bottom which prevents the rubber from coming out of the equalizer. The 4000 on the other hand has the rubber vulcanized inside the equalizer and I think this is where the problem/ defect is. I did install the sre 3000 and will be headed home tomorrow (1700 mi)

Sorry you had the problem, but I think the OEM systems JAYCO is using is the CRE & LRE so there may not be many who have the SRE unless they did an upgrade as you did..

I did see several posts I this forum as well as other forums asking about the sre4000 as well as how it compares to the sre3000. My issue is that after doing a Google search a found several people that had the same issue as I did. If I hadn't noticed this and hit the road, I can only imagine the catastrophic result if both springs let loose. In my opinion it's a defect and morryde would be wise to discontinue this model. It's been documented in several cases to fail, some in less then a year. So rather then chance serious injury/death/ damage and have a major lawsuit do the right thing and discontinue it!!

I only commented since you may not get much response as it wasn't OEM.

I have seen a few of these failures as well with this model. I'm so glad I never purchased it with my older trailer. I went with the CRE 3000 with the previous rig
