Steps won’t level

I have my new factory ordered 28.5 Rsts and when you deploy the stairs they can not be leveled from front to back. It is an engineering screwup. To even get them close the doors will drag on them. One would think there would be better quality control on this. The best my stairs have ever been were a 6deg decline on the top of the stair. One would not build a staircase or a set of concrete steps like this. Would be a safety concern if one was to step on an icy step which we do encounter Up here.
Anyone else have an issue with their stairs?

Welcome to the forum!
Most units have the MORryde StepAbove entrance steps. Each leg is adjustable by depressing the latch on the side/s needed.

The steps are great when they work for you. I really like mine, but they can be problematic in some cases. I have a version that’s a couple years older and there’s pins you pull to adjust the legs. I have had to completely remove the pins to get the legs flush for a 1/2” more at the door, and then bump up that side of the trailer a hair with auto level. All this to get the door to close without bending and rubbing at the bottom.

That is exactly what is on the trailer. Even with the legs fully deployed the top if the step is not level. 6deg or more downward slope on each stair top. No quality control and is a safety concern

Ya they interfere with the door same as my new ones. Put a level on the stair top and I bet yours are not even close to level either

I afraid to apply a level anywhere in there. Ignorance is bliss.

I've never had an issue with mine. But I also have Lippert Step Above on mine. Just put a quick phone app bubble on it.

Do you think the corporate manufactures cares? RV's, Truck's etc. selling like hotcakes, they can read the mind of their buyers. So long the corporate profits - no one is complaining, except the buyer.

Mine has the Lippert step above stairs also. It the design that is at fault. Did you Put the level on any step? and see if yours are as bad. Stepping out after some freezing rain would not be good in mine.
I actually went around my unit with a carpenter level after using the auto level and was surprised how good it was inside .

I have the 2017 28.5 with the morryde steps that I installed. Is yours three steps or four? Mine are the four step and work great and are level.

I believe they are 3 but could be wrong. Trailer is at the dealer as is brand new never used. Had it home and took it back to fix a couple other minor things. 2021 28.5 RSTS

The number of steps is determined by the threshold height on level ground. On one of my RV’s the dealership installed 4 steps on on door and 3 on the other. I checked entering the doors before I left only to find the 4 step door would not close properly when steps were down. They told me that was strange because when they tried them the door did close. Needless to say they had to replace with another set of 3.

Sounds like the same issue I am having. Stairs won’t level and doors wont close
They prob got the door to close by dropping them which creates the issue of the stairs themselves being Sloped down instead of being level.

Mine would need 4 to be level in my mind. That creates the issue of not being able to close the door probably. The brackets interfere with the door. They are a nice solid step but need to be properly engineered.
I would be very happy if mine were even close like yours. My stairs were at 6deg slope at best and they have since raised trailer prob 2inch on the suspension so it will be even worse now. I needed the suspension set to max height so I can get in my driveway. Tried the other way and leveling jacks hit. Another poor design that I will have to live with.

Pretty self explanatory now. I borrowed another members pic to show what is going on. 3 steps will not work properly. Both pictures are the same year and model trailer.

Me too. Lippert Step Above best mod I did on 2016 27.5RLTS. Saves your knees. No bounce stairs.
