Stove top exhaust fan

Just wondering how the two clips move to open up the little door on the outside for the stove top exhaust fan to vent. This is on a 2014 Eagle fifth wheel; there are just two clips, but I can't seem to budge them any which way. Don't want to push the wrong way and end up breaking them.

They are pretty hard to move at first. I just use my thumbs and push up on them.

so straight up is the way to go then?

Push up, and a bit of push out. They really aren't hard to operate, but at first I thought ours were difficult, too; it's just different from the older short lever clips.

Up and away from the wall on a 45 degree angle with your thumbs.

+1, but they're pretty tough the first few times. I thought I was going to rip the whole thing off the side of my trailer in the beginning, but now they're broke in and I've got the hang of how they work so all is well.
