Well the one that went on my previous unit was pounded on, by me and the new buyer with a 4x4 and sledge at pick up...

You must of had an out of round pin as mine just pushes up with one hand & I push in bolts .the bolts around the pin do fit snug but a sledge not required.stop by & will demonstrate

This topic gives me a headache every time it is posted. I love all you guys that comment on how a goose neck setup won't pull as good as a 5th wheel hitch most likely have never pulled a big 5th wheel with a Reese Goosebox. It also amazes me that someone always talks to someone at Jayco and says that they said it will void the warranty because it is a modification. So if I decided to put a better quality 5th wheel pin box on my Pinnacle, that would also void my warranty because it is a modification from the original is total "BS". The country's largest Jayco dealer offer an upgrade to a Reese Goosebox at delivery. The Goosebox offers me a better pull than any other 5th wheel pull I've ever had. The shocks, the air bag properly inflated, makes the pull very stable and quiet. Yes, for an old fat man, the chains are not fun, but the reward outweighs the pain. I am pulling a 2012 REQS Pinnacle with never a problem. I guess if I spent as much money to clutter up the bed of my truck as some of you guys have, then I probably couldn't accept the fact that there is a better way. This is my opinion, I have experienced both ways of pulling my 5th wheel and will never go back to a 5th wheel setup.

Amen!!!!
Its obvious that most folks jump to conclusions without having all the facts. a Reese goose box replaces all the components that attach to the frame of the trailer that was the issue of frame stress with the gooseneck adapters. The Andersen ultimate doesn't change anything except it uses a 2 5/16 ball for the connector. Some want to argue that there is four points of anchor in your truck bed with a traditional FW hitch. Take a look at how the gooseneck ball is attached in your truck. To both frame rails!!!! Im sure this point will surface again. But neither are add on gooseneck adapters.

Well, since I'm the OP, I'm just telling everyone what I was told BY JAYCO. Here is a copy of the conversation:

Good morning,
Dave, it would void the A frame part of the frame and whatever that hitch touches.
The reason that this would void your warranty is because it is considered a modification, there isn’t any adapter that would be covered under your warranty.
Thank you

OK, so which Dealer is offering the Reese Gooseneck as a Factory option at time of delivery?Do they put in Writing that your frame warranty is not Voided, because of this option, or are they just selling more parts-for-profit?

Just for the sake of clarity. the Reese goosebox is not the same as a gooseneck adapter.

Yes I know. I even sent Josh a link to the Reese Gooseneck # 94622 and even asked how can Reese claim there are OE certified by Lippert as ok to use. Again he said "JAYCO" will void your frame warranty because it is a modification.
Either way, I'm done researching this subject. I'm going with the Andersen Ultimate with my B&W Turnover for my setup.

I am confused on how the Reese box works. Is it big enough that it drops to the bed of the truck to hook up to the ball on the bed? If so, how does it work when used with the Anderson that is much higher than the bed of the truck?

The Goose box replaces the factory 5th wheel pin box and connects directly to a gooseneck ball in the bed of your truck.

So an Anderson hitch is only used with a regular king pin and the adapter.
