Thanks for the photo, I had looked at mine and it was that way which I thought was the logical way it should be. So many were posting that theirs were backwards so I wanted to make sure my thinking was right.

Mine was backwards as well. Dealer looked at another Northpoint and said that's how it is installed. After insisting he swap it around it worked better for awhile, but ended up changing it back and spraying silicon on it about once a camping trip. Still not right.

It's factory workers with little to no qualified supervision. We were having a problem with plant workers installing kitchen sink strainers with the rubber gasket under the strainer flange in the sink instead of between the bottom of the sink and the strainer nut. It literally took a year to get the practice stopped because some bozo supervisor on the plant floor who needed more fiber in his diet had determined doing it his way would save on time and plumbers putty.

These assembly workers are not Idiots. You better start laying the blame on front line foremen and middle to upper management who hires the trainers and furnishes a training program for these folks. You know, the same ones in management who get performance bonuses for time savings and production figures. If you don't think the bottom line is what it's all about, you don't know much about business.
