Swivel Rocker recliner
Has anybody come up with a way to stop these chairs from moving around while traveling. We don't have anchors in the floor. 2013 31.5 RLTS
Thanks

I bought a couple of surface mount tie down anchors and mounted one at the back wall where the rockers are located. When I get ready to travel I turn the front of the rockers to the back wall and then I have two tie down straps that I put through the anchors and around the chairs. Then I tighten them up and that holds the chairs in place while traveling. Before you go to the trouble of getting the anchors you should turn the chairs around and make sure the slides clear the chair backs.

Here's a thread in another forum on this subject: flying chairs. I've found that putting a chair on it's back and one behind the slide works well, if there's room - there's a post on this method in that thread.

We strap them back to back. They do not move in our FP.

Is this a problem with a rear living area?? We have rear kitchen and we don't have anything moving in the kitchen or the living area. Those rockers are pretty heavy to be moving around??

Our rocker chairs in the rear living area never move from their FLOOR location. They DO, however tend to rock, and collide with anything within range. I've solved the problem by tipping the chair on its side, putting a short bolt (with nut) in an existing hole in the metal base that prevents the chair from rocking. Then I tip the chair back upright, and nothing moves. Takes about 30 seconds to install bolt and nut. When we get to the CG, another 30 seconds returns the chair to useable condition. Very simple for me.

Same for us. In fact, our Pinnacle's recliners came with 2 straps for this purpose.

The day we took delivery of our new 31.5RLTS the tech said to just turn them back to back. When we got to our first stop on the way home, the chairs had both fallen over and put small holes in the side walls of the trailer. Made me sick! I was able to cover the holes with electrical blanking panels. From then on I turned the chairs over with the chair side down face to face on the table in the center, ran a bungee from the leg of one to the leg of the other. We have since taken those chairs out and replaced them with 2 wall hugger Lazy Boy non rocker recliners. Now they just sit back there and don't move much at all.

Thanks for the input I have put pins in to stop the rocking and a bolt in the base with a rubber hose over it to stop the swivel action. I don't think the chairs well move from their spot it was just the bouncing around that I was worried about.

We have carpeting under the chairs, and they are heavy enough that they never bounce around - just leave deep temporary imprints in the carpet.

swivel rocker recliner issue
We had a problem with our two rocker recliners on our first trip in our 351 RLSA. I sent a picture to jayco, they agreed to have the chairs repaired where the fabric had rubbed really bad. My solution in the future was to turn both chairs on their backs with the swivel bases facing each other. Then threw a couple of fleece blankets over them for protection. No more issues.
