Teflon plate

Using teflon plate instead of grease on fifth wheel.
Sometimes it is hard to get pin released when unhooking. Wondering if it could be teflon plate?

I have used a teflon plate for years. The only time I can recall having problems unhitching is when it was brand new. It will probably get easier as the plate wears a bit.

I have a hitch with a Teflon plate. The only time I had problems was with front-to-rear tension on the hitch. Chocking the trailer tires and moving the truck from forward to reverse and back took care of that.

My hitch came with the Teflon attached. Is your Teflon plate attached to the hitch or removable add-on plate? If it's removable, could you try hitching/unhitching with the plate off and see if that changes anything?

Teflon plate

Never had a problem using the teflon plate, but like the comment above mentioned backing up the TV(tow vehicle)while the trailer is choked will relieve tension on the pin.

I agree with oldmanaz. The only time I had problems is when it was under tension. Chalk the wheels or set trailer brake and back into it. Under forward tension it is hard to release.
