Texas question

I was looking at getting the king antenna for 38 FLSA as I had one my last unit and loved it. You never had to worry about rolling down the antenna and you picked up a lot more channels. Well it got me to thinking about height since this trailer is taller than my last one. I looked up max height requirements in texas and it is 14' which I fall below that, but then I ran across max width which is 8.5 feet, so my question is how are they allowed to sell this unit in Texas when it is wider than 8.5 feet?

I saw some language in the laws, while I was researching overall allowed length, that allowed for greater than 8.5 feet, above a certain height. My presumption, at the time, was that this allowed you to mount an awning on the side of an 8.5' wide trailer.

Maybe I need a better pair of glasses. I thought the unit was a 106", but is 102". This meets texas laws.
