The new Eagle is home

We were able to go and pick up the new eagle 29.5 bhds on Friday. Everything went extremely well from our perspective, as this is our first new camper. I was happy on how the camper sat on the truck there wasn't much adjusting to be done at all. In the second picture the truck is sitting in a dip so it looks like it is not level , but the first picture shows it is pretty good, they have the legs just off the ground to see how it sat.

The truck did an awesome job pulling it home 50 miles from the dealer, and we got to test the brakes out. We had just left the dealer got about 3 miles on the highway when traffic came to a dead stop so we came to hard stop and almost got rear ended by a little car, the DW almost became the angry wife. But all was ok and we finished our trip home with no issues the rest of the way home.

Over the weekend we worked on getting all of our stuff in the camper and organized and I can't believe how much storage is in this camper. We have everything from our last camper in there and still have cabinets and storage spots that are empty. Which is a good issue to have I guess. Now we have to let the weather warm up a little so we can un-winterize it and go use it.

Congratulations!! Nice to have plenty of storage. I just picked up my Eagle this week myself. I have already been camping in it here close to the house in Austin\Elgin area. I hope your unit feels as solid as mine. No rocking or movement when walking the length of the unit.

Hope you get some warmer weather soon. It was 17 degrees F when I left Middlebury, IN factory.

It was pretty cold in there this weekend but we did get a propane tank filled and tried out the furnace and it works awesome. We had a couple friends over to hang out and have some celebratory beers Saturday night and with the 7 people in there it wasn't crowded and didn't rock or move it is pretty solid. I did have the x-chocks in along with the rear stabilizers down so I was pretty happy and the DW was happy cause she is very alert to any motion.

This week is supposed to be warm, possibly close to 70 on Tuesday but this is Michigan and we could get a snowstorm on Wednesday so we will see how March plays out for us.

I was a little nervous last week wed we got close to 8 inches of snow in some areas but with the nice weather on Thursday and Friday the roads were nice and for the most part dry by the trip home Friday afternoon.

Looks great. We will be heading out to get our new 29.5 soon as well. Just wondering, did you get the 16" wheel upgrade on your's and what is your bed-rail height? Just hoping my TV will not cause the camper to be nose-high.

Thanks,
Dave...

I did get the 16" wheel upgrade and my bed rails height is about 57 inches I was a little nervous that I would be nose high as well but it sat pretty level I was very happy

Jason, thanks. I'll have to double-check but I think mine are at 59". What hitch are you using?

What did you go with for a hitch? And do you like it so far?

I have an older Hidden hitch 18k that I got with our old 5th wheel that works great. I haven't had any issues with the hitch so decided to keep it and try it out with the new camper. I did get the revolution pin box and have to get that working yet but I was still able to make a pretty sharp turn without the Revolution working.

Congrats! Looks fantastic! We're chomping at the bit ourselves but are early in the process with an ETA of 21/22 April! It's like being a kid in November and waiting for Christmas!

Congrats!!. We have the same one. Picked it up last October, towed it home, and it's been sitting all winter. The last few weeks here in MA have been pretty good. I've been going out as much as possible to open up slides, and awning. Today I've been shopping on Amazon to get a cart together for some new stuff.

LOL, be Careful. My 'cart' on Amazon is up to about $800+ already!

Looking at your second picture it looks like your a bit nose-low. Which, is good in a way. I'm assuming you'll try to level your rig with pin box and hitch adjustments? I wished ours was more nose low than nose high. Nonetheless, we love our 29.5 and looking forward spend more nights camping! Congratulations!

Colerain RV in Ohio. Back in Nov when the Wife & I decided this is the model we wanted, they gave us the Best pricing, by-far over anyone else. Enough that I don't mind the 900 mile drive to go get it.
Can't wait!
