The weight of stuff

If you refer to my previous post “Who’s the Boss” you know Kitty made purchasing a new RV my idea. What I did not mention in that post is Kitty also sold our old RV. (Again, making it my idea)

While cleaning the “stuff” out of the old RV, I weighed the stuff as I removed it. Keep in mind, it was not a scientific process as the only scale I have is a small bathroom scale. Weigh me then weigh me holding the item or box of items, then do the math to determine the item/box weight.

Would anyone care to guess the total weight? Or do you just want me to tell you.

Lol I did the same thing 3 or 4 years ago just out of curiosity. Using a bathroom scale I came in with around 670lbs. Cat scale said 690lbs so I'm pretty close. It adds up fast but I'm only half of max for my camper.

I'd wager less than you expected:

My guess = 476 pounds.

Mostly because of the motto "less is more."

I put all that extra stuff at the very back of my trailer so it reduces most of the tongue weight & keeps the trailer looking uncluttered.

Last spring I did the same but never weighed the stuff. After owning the Wildcat for 14 years I was amazed at how much stuff we pulled out of it. It had a ton of storage space and we used it thats for sure. With the kids all grown only a fraction of it went back in the new Talon. I told the wife we need to purge every couple years. Way to much extra stuff to be pulling around and not really needed..... less is more..ya thats it... my guess, 993 lbs.

Oh, do tell. The suspense is killing me!!

We got a 44' Northpoint and the way DW packs, it wouldnt surprise me in the least we have 2k in ours!
I do know one thing for sure, come time for all the "stuff" to go back in it for the season, its gonna get purged BEFORE it goes in.
WAY too much crap!

I had to look up what your old rig was. 2012, Front bunks, 5ver with a CCC of 2755.

I cannot imagine having that much CCC. But I know my 2012 HTT needs another purge.

I have a feeling everyone is way to Loooooow, 2400 lbs

Kitty and I found stuff we forgot we had. Some dated back to when we first loaded the RV back in '12. Much of the stuff we have never used. Kitty had several big ole cast iron skillets. We even had a tent packed in.
