Tighten shower wand holder

Does anyone know an easy way to remove this thing so I can tighten up the mount?

I would assume the rubber/plastic insert would come out but doesn’t budge.

Thanks in advance. I don’t want to damage anything.

Nevermind...

Figured it out. Patience is not one of my virtues.

There are two grey nipples (for lack of a better term). One on top and one bottom that hold the "holder" to the mounting bracket. The bracket is screwed through the shower into lawd knows what but it is weak. One screw was just twisting in the wind.

Need to evaluate wether to fix or upgrade the shower head now. Maybe they all come with the same style holder but can't imagine that is the case.

Will shop some. Recommendations are welcomed.

If this helps anyone great... There may just be a lot of people giggling... Newbie I am!

Look for access on the wall behind where it is mounted. On many rigs there will be an access panel, allowing access to the shower valves if it's on an inside wall, and a more functional mounting bracket could be added.

Thanks Norty.

The wife is running out to shop for new shower heads before I do anything with the current mount.

I did think about the access panel. But it looks to be a solid piece running from floor to ceiling and I would have to remove all the shelves from the linen closet. Ugh...

I think I will be able to get it done right.

Appreciate the reply.

Your shower head bracket may be totally different than our SLX 212 and, if so, feel free to ignore this. The screws in ours stripped out too. A call to Jayco got me the wall plans emailed quickly and I could see there was a small plywood “backer” inside the wall. A longer screw and some wood epoxy for good measure and it is in for good.

"One screw was just twisting in the wind."

If you go around and check things inside and outside of the trailer there's a good chance you'll finds lots of stripped out screws. I found screws stripped out on the window frames, and the mounting screws that hold the water heater in place. Both spots that could welcome water leaks. The boys in the factory need to have their power screwdrivers taken away from them.

If or when you want to access the back of the shower taps, you will find that there is a removable panel in the linen closet. There are tell tale screws to the right of the shelf that is the same level as the shower control/tap. The screw heads are visible in the 1” strips that hold the panel in place.
I searched that out when trying to solve the source of a water leak that was coming down in the basement. It turned out to be the anti siphon valve ( B&B Model 571), located behind the shower control.
It’s a bit of a pain to get wedged in there but it is relatively easy. The panel should come out and you have clear view of the plumbing.
Hopefully the top panel in the linen closet would give you access to the hand held shower mount. I would go out to look at mine but it was -40*C last night and promises to be a balmy -36*C tonight.

My shower head is loose. Did you ever remove the gray nipples from the top and bottom of the holder? Or did you get to it from the access panel in the linen closet?

If you press those tabs on the top and bottom in you should be able to remove the gray piece. Then you will see the screws.
I did not remove the panel.

Hi, Ladd. I'm having the same issues. Apparently we have the same shower holder. What did you use to remove the gray tabs on top and bottom?

We are presently staying two months at a CG that barely has 25 psi and we were getting a little more than a trickle from our shower head. Purchased the following based on the reviews and I can't believe how much of an improvement it made with such low pressure. Highly recommend it and the price is very reasonable.

Press the round tabs top and bottom and pry apart. It’s sort of hard.I attached a photo

Bought the YOO.MEE High Pressure Handheld Shower Head 3 years ago and what a difference it makes when you're hooked up to a low pressure system. Not as expensive as the Oxygenics and every bit as effective.

Has anyone found the OEM replacement bracket pictured in Snicklac's post? Would like to replace bracket with same so as not to add additional holes in shower.
