Tire moniter

Has anyone tried or seen this tire moniter from Costco?
I was going to get the Tire Minder Bluetooth TPMS ($350 USD) until I can across this for 30 bucks Canadian.
I don't think its as advanced as the Tire Minder, but it sends the pressure and temperature to my phone and will alert to high/low pressure. I don't need anything else.
It says it's max pressure is 90lbs. I'm at 80lbs so I'll see what happens. Haven't road tested yet.
It seems very accurate with the pressure.
But for $30, what the heck. It's easier than pulling out the gauge.

I was wondering when they were going to do that. Garmin has had them for a while but it only worked with specific units. Please report on distance capability as well.

I just road tested it now. It says good to 40', but that's a perfect line of site 40'.
My trailer is 40' so I'm about 35ish to the dash of my truck and the signal is so sporadic it's useless.
It's ok outside of my truck not moving
I'm sure a 32' trailer would get signal. I don't know how much the truck blocks a BT signal

I figured as much. If I could get a
12v Bluetooth repeater at the front of the trailer it should work.

I can use this on my 16' work trailer though, so not a total loss. For $30 it was worth a try.

Yep, Bluetooth is a bit weak on signals. Anything in the way will block it.

For that price I cannot see how it can even work.

I have a Tire Minder TM-77 system and it saved us yesterday. After staying two nights in the campground I got up and started to prepare to leave. When I checked the tire monitor it showed one tire at 40 lbs. when it should be 80 lbs. Since the pressures had been holding steady to this point, I didn't want to just put air in it and resume the trip. I figured something was wrong. So I had the tire pulled and replaced with the spare. It wasn't hard to find the problem. The tire had a 1/2" bolt in the center of the tread. I am sure with out checking tire pressure, it would have at least gone flat if not blown out while traveling down the road. Had that happened, no telling what damage may have been caused to he rig. To me, it just paid for itself.

BTW, if you are running 80 psi cold you will be over 90 psi going down the highway, so it may not give you early warning when you need it.

It does work. But only when you're near the tires. Lol
It's not meant for a trailer this big.
It certainly makes checking the pressures easy when stopped.
I did find out my one wheel runs way hotter then the rest.
I'm going to look at the TireMinder Bluetooth monitor again.

Racqueteer... when I first brought my SOB home I found a 3/8 bolt in the tire too!
It would hold air pretty well.
I only notice it because I could see it was low...but ya, that could have went bad for me too.

Ya I got the Bluetooth tireminder and mounted the booster under very front of FW. No signal loose at all. Since I have an old truck I mounted sensors on the rear tires also. Not worried about front but backs with all the weight.

Oh. Nice Rock.
I didn't know you had that monitor.
I've been looking at it before it was put up for sale.
Will it text you if the tire pressure drops?

Give me your review, or did I miss a post about it.
