Tires

Just noticed 2013 eagle premiers (just coming into dealers now) have Power king Tow Max STR tires not goodyear like earlier units, also have hot point microwaves.Earlier ones had dometic micro..Don't know much about hot point but do know goodyear tires are very good. Hope Power King tires hold up.

You might want to recheck about the goodyear tires. Jayco has been putting goodyear marathons on all there tt. They are made in China and dont have a very good history.

I believe hotpoint is made by GE. I had a hotpoint washer dryer set in my home years ago and they lasted 10 years. Got rid of them to get the latest front loading gizmos and wished I had kept them.

X2 on the poor reputation of Goodyear Marathons. Have had one blow out just sitting there over the winter, and another with a bulge in sidewall - ready to blow. Another marathon on a car hauling trailer that belongs to my boss recently blew a chunk out of the sidewall while hauling nothing but air. Personally, I would not recommend marathons to anyone. Goodyear automotive tires seem to be OK, however.

We pulled the 10 Ply "E" Rated Goodyear Maratons off our Pinnacle and replaced them with 14 Ply "G" Rated Tires.
We thought the "E" Marathons we a little light for a 5th Wheel as heavy as a Pinnacle.
Actually Jayco derates the Pinnacle's 7000 lb axles down to 6800 lbs due to the lightweight tires they use.

I went from Goodyear Marathons to Power King Tow Max which had a Higher Load capacity than the Marathons. I had 3 Marathons go bad. So far I have had no problems with the Power Kings on my Designer.
