Well by golly, learned something new.

Living in Arizona I have always used the metal stems because the heat of the summer does a number on anything rubber.

Not surprising Discount tire used the wrong valve stems. I quit using them when I bought my Goodyear Endurance tires from them, requested and paid for all to be balanced, brought them home and discovered there weren't any balance weights on any of them. Loaded them all back up in my truck and made a second trip to the store. They also over-torqued my Tundra lug nuts more than once. Must have gotten "The New Guy" each time.

A lot of shops are using torque sticks. I’ve used them myself, until I read the packaging of the sticks. + or - 10%. So I rechecked a few bolts with my Snap-on torque wrench which I just had calibrated from the factory and the torque sticks were off by 5 to 15%.

The Tundra Alloy wheels are torqued to 97 foot pounds. I use a calibrated torque wrench on my truck and trailer...the truck to 97 ft lbs, the trailer to 115. I had to use a 3 foot breaker bar to loosen the Discount Tire "torqued" nuts after the new tires were installed and then I re-torqued them to Spec. At 97 ft lbs they never feel tight enough and they come off real easy using a 4-way wrench. Never lost a wheel yet in the 15 years I have been driving Tundras.

I order Goodyear Endurance tires to put on my rv. It was time to replace the ones that were on it. Took two tires off and went to my local tire dealer. He wasn't happy I ordered the endurance tire, he said they were made in China. I showed him on the sidewall where it was marked made in the USA. So he put them on. When he went to balance them they wouldn't balance. Got to looking at them and they had bulges in the sidewall. So he got the plant code off the sidewall to see what plant they were made in. My original tires were manufactured in Gadsden Alabama. The ones I got today that was made two months ago were manufactured in China. Goodyear is marking them made in the USA but in fact they are made in China. Do not buy Goodyear endurance tires anymore. I ended up sending them back and putting some LT tires on. Yea I've read all the good and bad about LT tires. Well I didn't have much choice here. Just thought I'd share my experience today dealing with Goodyear. I'm very disappointed that they can mark tires made in the USA when they're not! Shame on Goodyear!!!

I think somebody read the code wrong. They have a plant in AL and NC.

Last Update: May 30, 2022

This is a question our experts keep getting from time to time. Now, we have got the complete detailed explanation and answer for everyone, who is interested!

Goodyear Endurance tires, made right here in the USA (in Gadsden, Alabama and Fayetteville, North Carolina) are the tire of choice for work or for play.

Are Goodyear endurance tires made in China?
The Goodyear Endurance is the new and improved trailer tire everyone is talking about. Being made here in the United States, Quality and overall dependability is redefined with the durability and internal structure of the Endurance.

All-New Goodyear Endurance Trailer Tires are Made in the USA -

I can confirm the Endurance tires that came on my Pinnacle, before the 17.5 tires upgrade was delivered, are MADE in the USA in the year 2022

We didn’t read the code wrong. There was three of us reading it. The plant here in Gadsden closed in 2020. Here is the link to the news article. https://apnews.com/article/2e1fce506...fc99260186e2ab
So if Goodyear sent that to you in May of 2022 they lied again. All I can tell you is what happened to me today. I have no reason to mislead anyone here. If you don’t believe me that’s your problem. Keep believing Goodyear and see where it gets you.

does it say made in the USA on the tire or made in PRC/China? Not the plant code the country stamp!

It said made in the USA on the sidewall. That’s the problem. The plant code was for China.

Regardless of where they were made. I ordered four of them and all four were bad. What would you do?

Where is the Plant code listed on the sidewall and how do you relate that to the country of origin? Do all manufactures use the same codes and where can you find the list of countries related to the codes listed?

If they were in fact Made in China how does Goodyear get away with marking them Made in USA? If this issues turns out to be true, it’s going to put a dent in their sales because I for one won’t buy any more Goodyears. Had the same problem years ago when the Marathons started being Made in China and they were junk!

How do we get to the bottom of this and find out the truth?

so they had "bulges" or waves like the info and video posted where this is acceptable? Everyone I have seen is made the same way.

Also, was the balancing equipment Hub centric or lug centric? IF you are trying to balance a trailer tire with the center hole...hub centric that can cause it to be off.

Sorry, something is not adding up here?

That is from FAQ on the web and not GOODYEAR.

I would be very disappointed if the stopped making the endurance tire in the USA. I just purchased one last month because of an axle issue. It’s a 205/75 15. Went out and got the code from it. It comes up as a Goodyear in NC. Don’t mind the dirty rim.

Also they would be in really big trouble with DOT, FTC and other agencies if they marked tires "Made in USA" and they were actually from China as the OP alleges.

Check your axels too.
They will trash tire in a hurry if they are slightly out of true.

interesting you said that. I bought my 2016 317RLOK and in about a year replaced ALL 4 of my tires. The original ones were Rainier. They probably had less than 5,000 miles on them. I replaced with Carlisle. So, 5yrs later, they still look and ride well. My RV is kept inside, so the only sun it sees, is driving and camping.

Well, I’ve finally wiped my hands clean of Goodyear Endurance tires. In September of last year I replaced my original Endurance tires with a new set because they were wearing down after only 15,000 miles. In July of this year Discount Tire replaced one of them because a bubble in the sidewall appeared. This past Monday we were getting ready to leave the CG we were staying at in Mesquite, NV and I noticed another bubble in the sidewall of one of the tires. We went to the nearest tire shop and asked them to replace the tire with our spare. They got underneath and on the inside of two other tires there were also bubbles in the sidewall. They suggested I replace them with the Goodyear G614 which they claimed was 3 times the tire Endurance was. They claimed the sidewall on the Endurance flexes so much that they will eventually form a bubble because the sidewalls are not steel enforced. So far I’m extremely pleased with the G614. However because of the smaller diameter, almost 2”, I will need to raise my rear jacks to protect them. They also took very little lead for balancing as compared to the Endurance.
