Check out the Salun s637 tires. There are some videos on Youtube. I put them on my 2015 BHTS and really like them so far. I have heard good reviews from those that own them. Check them out.

I put them on my fiver when I got it (used, yr old). There were TowMax's on it and I sold those for 200$. I figured the new and better tires were chepaer than repairing the trailer. 15,000km on them so far in 2 winters.

After experiencing a blow-out and the steel belts were showing on two of the other ones, we contacted Goodyear about the failure of the Marathon tire. We barely got three years of use, less than 3,000 miles on them. Goodyear informed us that they were from a defective lot. Why didn't we get notified before hand? Luckily, no damage to the trailer. They prorated the value of the tires, and we bought new tires for our Jeep Grand Cherokee, and replaced the trailer tires with the Sailun brand. So far, we are very pleased. Very strong tire, 110 psi max, load range G. The trailer handles differently too, for the better.

Tires

I think you hit the magic number 3 years. That's when we replace trailer tires no matter how good they look.Cheaper than deductibles for tire blow out damage for us.Thanks

Thanks, I'll sure look at them. I'm looking to upgrade to 16" wheels so new tires will be coming.

When we got our first fifth wheel in 2004 we were continuing having tire issues. The manufacture would send us 4 new upgraded tires every time one separated.(china crap.) I slowed down, made sure pressure was okay, nothing worked until I bought 10 ply carlise and then 10 ply denmans. (no longer in business) 10 plys made all the difference in the world but be sure to change them every three years if they sit a lot. When we bought our new 5er earlier this year I told my wife she could have anyone she wanted as long as it came with 16" tires. You have a lot more options with a 16" over a 15". Have the goodyear endurance, and hope they are as good as everyone thinks they are. Only have about 3000 miles on them so far. If I have any issues with these I'm going with a truck tire. My neighbor put michelins on his 6 years ago and hasn't had a problem.

You should be able to run E rated ST tires on your rig. I also had several blowouts. I now run Maxxis 8008 E rated tires and they are performing well. The Goodyear Endurance may also be a good tire but it is new and not much of a history yet. After that many blowouts I would also give my suspension shackles a good inspection. They don't take much stress to get them to fail.

You have the same fiver as we do. Have you scaled your setup to see what pin weight and total weight you are running? I switched from an F350 LB DRW to a 3500HD SB SRW this year, won't be towing until winter.

When I checked my weights I figured I had to go 1T to handle the pin weight which I figure is about 3000lbs or a bit more. When I scaled with the last truck I only did one weight for the 3 load points.

I'm running S637's on my trailer and will replace them at 5 years.

Hello,
Well I did upgrade to 16" wheels and tires. I went with the Tow-Master A.S.C. ST235/85R 16,**GREENBALL (14 ply) These tires are ran on all most every trailer imaginable here in SW Oklahoma. Only time will tell with my decision.

When we upgraded to a 2016 28.5 RSTS I had the tires swapped. Our new 2016 came with 6ply tires like every other new camper. I just don't like taking a chance with 6 ply's s
o that's why I run 10 ply's.
I hope this has helped you.
Good luck in your tire desion!!
As I pulled into my campsite Thanksgiving morning, the neighbor came RUNNING over and informed me that if it was not a shadow he saw then one of my ST235/80R16 blowmax tires had a large bubble on the inside sidewall. Sure enough, it was a bubble about the size of a baseball. Changed it before setting up. I will be replacing all 4 with only about 4k miles on them with an LT Michelin or equivalent with at least a G rating. I will always be grateful for the gentleman who saw the bubble on the inside wall. He saved me a lot of $$$$.

I, and many others have had Towmax come apart looking brand new.

We also dealt with the Blowmax and had 2 of the 5 replaced under warranty before they blew. So the bubbles appearing on the sidewalls and had them all inspected and replaced. However, I live in a agricultural area and went to a local dealer who replaces a lot of tires on agricultural trailers who are just about always hauling over the weight limits, although at much slower speeds. I let him recommend a good tire that he had good experience with and that was two years ago with no problems since. You probably have one of those type of shops in your area you could check with.
