Toilet Using Hot Water
Hi all....
We're new to RVing and becoming familiar with our Pinnacle 38FLPS as time goes on.
Our toilet is using Hot Water to flush..... This just doesn't sound right to us. We think it should be using cold water.
Where should we be looking to fix this problem?

Factory error in plumbing. Check valves on back of hot water heater for correct positions. Also check outside shower valves are both off.
I would call the dealer if not a misplaced valve.

I’ve never had a reason to touch my toilet water before until last week. I had to replace the toilet flush valve, the old one had a slow leak. It was only then I realized the supply line to my toilet was hot water. I’ve had this camper since 2015 and never knew. Are we sure this is a factory mistake? Possible it uses hot water to help facilitate rinsing the bowl better since it’s a low volume flush? Just curious because otherwise I’ve had the wrong plumbing for 4 years lol.

Someone at the factory plumbed the supply line to the toilet from the hot water line instead of the cold water line. Personally, I would not call it a problem. I wish mine were plumbed hot. It would help to remove brown mounds that might linger inside the holding tank.

Well I don't know for sure.... Ours is a 2014 model, but we just purchased it a month ago.
Maybe we should take a poll and see if there are other owners with same set-up.

Could it be that the water is warm from sitting in pex tubing while it is blazing hot outside?

Camper, no. Upstairs house bathroom toilet, yes. Kinda' nice if you're the second one using it!

Try turning off the hot water heater water flow via the bypass valves and see if that cures the problem. If it does the pipes are incorrectly connected and you would need to track it down.
Or just enjoy the warmth.
We camped many years ago where the water was supplied by a hot springs near Yellowstone. To keep the toilets from freezing or just because it was easy they used hot spring water. Really nice on a cold fall day!

I've never stuck my hand in my toilet but I can tell you the water is cold.

In the colder weather we've been having you can see the steam come up, just as you would running water in the bathroom sink. Also there is condensation under the lid after flushing.

Also possible that, in this weather, when on city water, your cold water supply is being heated in the Hose by the SUN?... Hose water can easily get OVER 140-deg
