When I put mine on I argued with the "kid" at the tire shop they needed to be balanced. He said there was no point. I said why not? He balanced them. For Chinese tires I was impressed the first three balanced out all under 5 oz the 4th took 13 oz.

I got my tires and wheels from trailertiresandwheels.com. They came mounted and balanced. They mounted the balance weights, out of site, on the inside of the rim. When I need to get new tires I will insist that they get balanced as well.

Well, I finally had my Tomax moment. Took my Eagle in yesterday for preventative maintenance. I noticed one of the tires was not wearing properly so asked that they put on the new spare and check them all out. They just called me back. The tire not wearing evenly and the one in front of it were both separating. I got in just in time. Going to have to replace them so will replace all 4, maybe 5. Got to look for good deals.

By the way, if as someone said before, everyone who has a problem with Towmax tires reports it to NHTSA, we could probably get a recall on these Blowmax. I am reporting mine!

Our unit is at the dealer to get some warranty work, front cap painting. I came in with a printed copy of the towmax recall, I had called Jayco and they said my tires were covered under warranty. The dealer is working with our local Discount Tire to replace 4 tires, since we replaced one tire already.

I will post an update.

Try this

http://www.tirebusiness.com/article/...wmax-str-tires

According to this info, it is not a wholesale recall.

As we speak they are removing the old wheels and tires, re packing hubs, inspecting brakes, etc. I'm going to call them and ask them to inspect the tires when they come off for issues. I'm also going to call Jayco and see if they will do anything for me, after I find out condition of the tires.
