Tow Vehicle: North Point 377RLBH
1) What do you tow your North Point with ?
2) In hindsight, if you would buy a 450 over a 350, or 3500 over a 2500, etc... please state such.
Thanks in advance for replies, Happy Trails !

2016 Ram 3500 Cummins Crew Cab Long Bed Dually with factory airbags.
As a side note, if looking for something to pull a 377 with, scrutinize the payload criteria of the TV you're looking at. Might save you some headache down the road.

He is probably referring to the payload capacity of the tow vehicle. The 377 will likely have a tongue weight over 3000lbs. That is certainly out of range of many 3/4 tons and probably a couple 1 tons as well.
Just make sure that whatever vehicle you get has the payload capacity to haul you, your passengers, your gear and your trailers tongue weight.
Look at the sticker on the door jamb before buying anything to confirm it has the required payload.

I bought a 2016 2500 with the Cummins and factory airbags because my dealer assured me it was enough truck, and Ram's website said the payload was tongue weight and any cargo in the bed of the truck. While skeptical, I trusted the dealer's knowledge. Only after I took delivery of the truck and laid a sizeable down payment in the palm of the Jayco dealer, did I come across a post here that said not to trust the website's claim, and to see this other Ram site with the true numbers. As stated above, payload is anything not on or in your truck at delivery. I called the dealer, who was clueless, but was willing to trade me up to a 3500 to the tune of $13k! Got Rams HQ on the phone, who worked a tolerable trade in to get me a truck to safely take my family and trailer on the road! Loved the 2500, but it simply did not have the payload capacity needed for the 377RLBH. With 150 grand in the truck and trailer and "cargo" that is simply priceless in my family, it's simply not worth the risk.

We don't have a Northpoint, but have its first cousin, a Pinnacle. We are full timers so we have our "whole life" with us (really not that much, we're not clothes horses, and we got rid of most of our other possessions), and do have the stackable washer and dryer up in the nose.
Our pin weight is almost 4,000 lbs - way too much for a 250/2500 truck, and really on the high side for a 350/3500 SRW. Sure am glad we have the DRW. It is even close to its ratings.
Personally, I wouldn't go anything less than a 359/3500 DRW.
You really need to find out the pin weight loaded and ready to go before deciding on a tow vehicle.
Our truck is my daily driver (and also the wife's when we're in Florida) and, once you get used to the big "hips", getting around and parking isn't a big problem.

The dually gives us peace of mind in that not only is it really stable at all speeds, but a blowout on a rear tire should be much more manageable. The difference in price is around $1200, so not too much more than the SRW 3500, and the SRW 3500 is only about $300 more than the 2500. Money well spent IMHO.

As a guess of the loaded pin weight to help in assessing the pay load capacity of a tow vehicle, I would take 22% - 23% of the trailer's GVWR.
For the Northpoint 377RLBH, that would give you ~3,600# - 3,800#.
Add to the estimated loaded pin weight the other loading of the truck, like FW hitch, passengers, cargo, etc. and you at least have something to use as a guide.
This may be and probably will come out with a higher loading weight, but better to have more payload capacity then not enough.
Hope this helps.
