Thanks taviking22, would like to ask a couple of questions. Do you know what your loaded pin weight is? How has your 2012 Pinnacle held up? Are decals still in good condition?
Thanks
jefco

2855 Dry - As you see it there about 3050-3100 - I have a 5.5K Gen set and a 15 gal tank (5 gal in it) - in the front - so I'm a little heavier than Jayco stated specs - 2 AC's - Genset - Wood fireplace mantle option all = more weight.

Are your tires rated about 3500 capacity each?

3500 for sure. You should be able to handle around 3200-3300lbs pin weight with a new SRW 3500 (then add in family and everything else you might carry in the truck))

We are 3300 on the pin with a gcwr of 22800 loaded (we are legal to 25,000). Pulling a 2014 351 RSTS with a 2013 Ram 3500, 6.7 Cummins, SRW. I had a dually before this truck but I prefer this truck for all round driving.

Specifically to the question, get a one ton. For the extra $3k you will have towing piece of mind. Can you do it with a 3/4 ton? Sure....probably.

In the GMC/Bowtie world - it's 800.00 difference between the 3/4 ton and the 1 ton - just FYI
