Towing Capacity North Point 379DBFS

I purchased the North Point 379DBFS. I was already driving a F250. The dry weight of the coach is 14,100 lbs, the max towing capacity of my truck is 14,700 lbs. I had Firestone airbags installed. Is there anything else I can do to make for a better towing experience besides upgrading my truck? I went on a 40 mile round trip test run after the air bags were installed. The drive wasn't too bad, a few big bumps here and there that were uncomfortable for a few seconds. Otherwise, the truck pulled the coach fine. I know now that the 250 is not ideal and a dually is probably in my future, however, I'd like to maybe extend that time frame for another year or so. It's either that or downsize the coach. LOL Is anyone else towing that much weight that can offer some advice?

Thanks in advance,

David

The real test is going to be pin weight when you're loaded and your rear axle weight rating. You don't want to exceed that.

Check the weight rating on your tires, truck and camper!A blow out can be dangerous and very expensive! Thanks

With the F250 I'd expect you are over on your payload (pin wight) which is usually the first limit to hit with a fifth wheel rather than the trailer weight limit.

My fiver is 15k GVWR and I'm at my payload max with a 1ton truck

Thank you for the reply and info. After looking into some numbers, we are defintely going to make a move. Not sure if it’s a new truck or new coach. Thanks again.
