TPMS caps

Does anyone remove their TPMS caps when in storage for concerns of sticky fingers? 🤔

Didn't know if anyone has ever had issues or am i just being a paranoid newbie?

Thanks!

I have the ability to store on my property, but if I was using a shared storage facility I’d remove them. I don’t think that’s being paranoid...

I removed a few times during storage and just got tired of it as the ones on the inside rear dually hard to get on/off. I'm in a section with 75% RVs of some kind. Not sure if that means its less or more likely.. They've been fine for 5+ years now..

Course some people have had catalytic converter cut out so TPMS would be much easier. It may just depend on the area your storage is at.

I remove mine to keep them out of the elements not for fear of them wandering off. While they seem a little $$ to replace I doubt there’s any resale value. But then some people will steal just because . . .

I actually had to think about it. I leave the TPMS caps on during the camping season middle of April until the first week in November. I take them off during winter storage. I have mine in a storage lot at the backside of a local campground. The campground has a security gate so only people camping there or storing their RV there have access. I don't get out there as often during the winter so I take them off to keep them out of the winter elements.

I only take them off to change the batteries, or adjust the tire pressure. RV is stored at a storage facility. Never had a problem.

Another reason I went with internal sensors.

I always remove them when my FW is in storage. At $34 a piece, it is not worth taking a chance of getting them stolen.
