I also have my repeater in the front battery compartment of my fifth wheel. Didn't really need it but they sent me one for free so I figured might as well.

Happy RVing,
Jeff

I use TireMinder monitoring system. They work as they went off both times I had a blowout. With a catastrophic tire failure such as a blowout you will most likely hear and see the results. They will not prevent or always give you a warning before a blowout.

Thumbs up Tpms

Another user of TST507. 4 years and no problems.

HappyRVing,
Jeff[/QUOTE]

I agree with Jeff and previous re TST 507. I have them on C class and toad. Metal valve stem extenders can fail. 3000 mile trip, several days on our wonderful Interstate system(full of potholes), and inner dually extender failed due to vibration.Immediate alarm from TPMS while traveling 65MPH.. T.G. Shiny RV has stabilizers for 3 different type wheels. They are superb!

Do they have them for the RAM aluminum dually wheels?

Yes, get a TPMS, frankly, I don't know why they don't provide one anyway. Most newer cars have them. We were on our first trip in our Class C pulling a Chevy Captiva (Saturn Vue with a Chevy bow tie) and merrily driving down the road when people started signaling us to pull over. We did and found the right rear tire on the Chevy destroyed and some damage to the body of the car. We got it fixed and bought a new tire and immediately upon return home ordered a TPMS. Now we can monitor all the tires on both vehicles all the time. Well worth the investment.

Tpms tst 507

We've used the TST for years and it has been a blessing. We did have two valve stem failures our last trip but the tire repair shop said it appeared they we installed incorrectly. Maybe....
Over the years we've had 4 TPMS warnings and we're very grateful for the system. You can set the alarm for the recommended setting or what you're comfortable with.
Always carry a spare set of batteries for the sensors though..

I use the 507 model from TST and have been extremely pleased with it.
Take a peak here:

Good luck with your decision and happy camping!

Very curious to know how a tpms valve stem can increase your chance of a blowout. Do you have any explanation to support this?

I have Tire Minder. Started with 4 on my TT as my truck had factory TPMS. Traded truck and TT. Purchased a new MH and car. Now I have 10 wheels. Expanded the Tire Minder system with controller on dash of MH. Minder Research is a great company as I have visited their factory in Vero Beach Florida. I would not drive or tow without them.

I have a 2016 Pinnacle and a GMC Sierra 3500HD. I have been using a TST - Truck System Technologies - TM-507RV for my trailer for about 8 years. No problems with the system or tire monitors.

EezTire T515 for three years now. Saved us once with a nail and slow leak. We were able to inflate and get to a repair shop in Nashville. BTW a Firestone Store tech insisted (without even looking at the tire) that we needed to replace it. The Good Year shop next door patched it. No problems yet, 5000 miles later.

Not sure what others do, but I pull the sensors off in the winter so the batteries are in the heated basement vs. freezing. A friend had one sensor go bad when he turned it back on in the spring. Coincidence? Maybe. Overkill? Maybe. But I pull the trailer battery anyways and just do them at the same time.

I'm no expert by any means...but I've stayed away from them and been happy thus far without incident. A lot of variables to consider...just my 2 cents.
I have never heard or read anything suggesting that a tpms valve stem can increase the risk of a tire blowout to happen. Can you elaborate please?

Hi rk. I use the TST 507 on my 5th wheel. It can do up to 22 wheels. It has not let me down at all. I purchased it back in 2014 for my old motor home. Then we trade the MH for our 2017 RLTS and use it on that as well. Batteries are still good even at 4 years old. I got the best deal on Ebay.

I pulled for over 2 years full time with no sensors. Good tires, always check air pressures and keep your speed down 60 to 65-no problems. It has worked for me for 15 yrs, but maybe not for you. Good luck.

I use the Tireminder. I like the fact that I can "disconnect" the trailer in the system, since I put them on my truck as well (my 04 F250 didn't have tpms). Works well, and I baight enough units for the spare tires too, so I can rest easy that they are also in good shape.
