I removed the longer chains on my fan for that exact reason

I believe any of the air bag pin boxes would be good as far as smoother ride.
Only problem is they are pricey.......

I have the Trailer Saver hitch , I have had three different hitchs over time and air bags , for me the Trailer Saver hitch was the answer , I have tried it on some rough roads and Jointed highways . For me I will always have an air ride in the box. They are very heavy , I leave mine in so that is not an issue for me.

I started out with a 16K Curt hitch. After less than a year, it started to do what you describe. I posted some photos somewhere on here of how the jaws were messed up. Too much slack between the pin and jaws. Replaced under warranty. Sold the new one and went with a B&W. No more pin slamming around on the hitch. I have a nice ride now. Something to think about.

I would look into adding shocks to your suspension. There is a U Tube video on this. I think I might do this shock system to my 5ther down the road. Good luck in your decision Bud.
