Trailer SumoSprings

Was looking at the Trailer SumoSprings.
https://www.supersprings.com/product...r-sumosprings/

They look interesting. Looks like a good way to take a little pressure off the springs and maybe help with the ride of the trailer.
I did a little bit of searching and didn't come across anyone using them.

So I thought I would post it here.
Any one using them on a trailer?
What do y'all think about them?

Looks interesting for sure. Looks like a much simpler install than shocks and probably works as well. Kinda wish I’d seen these last year

I wonder if they actually absorb shocks?

With the dual action of shocks, I don't think they would perform near as well.....JMHO

I would tend to agree. And with the hydraulic design of the shocks they should perform better at half of that action also.

But if this does work to some degree they maybe a mid point for me to hold me over until I save the $500 needed for the shocks. I might need $1K if I want to upgrade to complete independent suspension that they sell.

But this is a null point since they only work on over axle springs. Mine are under axle.

Check the link they have both over and under. Etrailer has them for $275.63 and you need two sets.https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Lea...SS-106-40.html So a little over $550 total. I can promise you they would be a whole lot easier to install than shocks.

Definitely wouldn't be the same as properly installed shocks at the correct working angle for dampening. They look more like soft bump stops to cushion the ride than dampen. I'd go with the comfort master shocks over those. I saw a video of them in action. They don't look like they would hold up over time. They see a lot of flex force. Shocks dampen, rubber/air cushions. That's why air ride trucks have shocks as well. Same as the rubberized equalizers, they cushion and help absorb shock but don't do well to dampen. That's why people notice a difference when adding shock even with the rubberized equalizers.

Me too Tom. I'm thinking they may be a good enhancement to have with the shocks. Would help with sway like a sway bar on the truck.
