Traveling with 12' Kayak

What's the best way to store / mount a kayak when traveling with a 12' kayak? Is there a bumper / 2 inch receiver mount available? I have a 2016 Jayco Eagle 27.5 RLTS. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

On the truck.. We carry sea kayaks. Seventeen feet.
Your twelve footer is already too long for vertical install on the back of your travel trailer

You probably dont have enough spread for a traditional roof rack but if you have extended cab maybe
Other option

I have seen a fair amount of front bumper racks used for kayays

Something from Thule or Yakima would work.. They are expensive at first. But I have had mine thirty years. When we change trucks we sometimes have to change just the feet. We drive our vehicles for at least ten years.

take a look at the Thule and Yakima websites.. Rhino is a third carrier but I don't know if they make cross bars

Malone is a possibility.

These are on truck cab racks.. You could also do a truck rack that goes over the bed if you have an open bed. The trouble with a short bed is tight turns the end of the kayak could hit the rockguard over the window and tear it.

We load the kayaks thru the RV door with the slide outs extended and lay them on the rear bed.
We then always remove them wherever we camp whether there's water or not for kayaking.

The nice thing about a rack is that once at camp you can leave your RV and go to any launch ramp with your tow vehicle..
I don't like storing stuff loose on the bed .. stuff with heft. Yet we do store a bike in there.. But we also have a bike rack that fits into the trailer receiver so we are not beholden to start from the campsite.
