On my Eagle, I pulled the side marker light out to look at the wiring. On the Eagle, it only goes along the rail for about 4 inches then heads inside to join the other rats nest of wiring. Only one screw just to the rear of the marker light I did not remove as it was by the wires.

I just had my saggy trim fixed a couple months ago. When I picked up the trailer, my the top marker on that side was out along with my rear marker lights and backup camera. My first thought was a screw shorted it. Dealer claimed it was bad wiring and jay command. They fixed it in one day. I still think they hit a wire and found an opportunity to get a couple $$ from jayco as a warranty repair. So, yeah, be careful. All these trailers are wired differently from what I can tell.

Well I finally got around to repairing the sagging trim problem. Used #10 x 3" self tapping ceramic coated sheet metal screws with metal/rubber washer and 1/4" hex head. I pre-drilled through the frame with a 5/32 high speed metal drill bit. Screwed them in until they started penetrated the metal frame and used 1/4" socket and ratchet wrench to slowly draw them in. Like another poster said, I kept going down the line and gradually snugged them up. I used 10 screws per side. Looks good!

I have about 800 miles on mine since I replaced all the screws into the steel. So far it is holding fine. The real test will come in December when we head for Florida. I95 is one of the worst roads. It will be a good test.

Cosmic, just looked in on this thread and noticed I missed your question. My apologies!
I did not see any chalking. My trim has a spot of sealer (black) at each end and I think I remember a screw to hold the plastic in place.
